Our IPA is created from a base of Pale and Crystal malts and is aggressively hopped throughout the brewing process with a final hop addition in the conditioning vessel. A beautiful flowery hop aroma will greet you as you dive into this hop lover’s dream. A middle caramel malt presence balances high hop bitterness with hop flavor end to end... learn to love hops! (Editor’s Note: originally brewed by Humboldt Brewing Company under the name "Humboldt IPA Nectar" until their acquisition by Firestone Walker.)

UPDATED: OCT 13, 2007 Clear orange with a short white head and fine lace. Quite malty for an IPA, with nice spicy finish and an almost heavy mouth feel. Fruity aroma and nose, followed by resinous hops to the finish.

UPDATED: AUG 14, 2008 Pours a clear orange with a small head. Smells sweet with some piney hops and citrus. Flavor is similar with great balance between hops and caramel malts. Doesn’t do anything crazy but it does it right. Very drinkable while still being assertive and tasty. This is a really good one!

On tap at Toronado. Dark orange color, lots of fluffy lacing. Pleasant light citrus hop aroma, a little grass as well -- nice not to be overwhelmed. Taste of the same sweet citrus hops, a decent caramel malt backbone, overall a subdued enjoyable beer.

Just came across this at Firestone Brewery. A very strong flavored IPA, which is great. The taste and smell of this IPA are great. For the potency of this it was very smooth and easy to drink. This has to be one of the better IPA’s i’ve had so far since the venture into craft brews.

Not a bad beer by any means just little stood out compared to other IPAs. Moderately hoppy nose and flavor, but with nothing outstanding or remarkable to really comment on. Your average IPA is basically what this is.

From Northcoast Coop this was a 12 oz bottle that when poured into a glass showed up somewhere between golden and amber with a nice big foamy head that left good lacing. Great IPA nose of hops, citrus, flowers, light malts and pines. Mouthfeel was very nice and flavors were much like the nose. Good finish with just the right amount of bitterness and great flowery tinges. Darn good IPA. Seemed really fresh. Glad I bought a six pack....five more to go.

Felt like a humming bird drinking this flowery beer. Smelled of citrus and fresh hops. Poured light amberish with medium head. Tasted like it smelled, very little malt going on.. not too bitter and plenty of fresh hop taste.

Tap @ The Bistro’s IPA Festival 8/6/05. Dark golden color with a tan head. Malty, semi-sweet flavors, mild hops. An even balanced IPA.

Hoppy aroma; somewhat perfumy, but nice. Fresh and floral. Clear amber body with a very slightly off-white head. Quickly, but not fully diminishing head. No lace. No haziness. First sip suggests more of an APA than an IPA. Second sip hops come through. This is a very drinkable and smooth IPA with exceptional balance. Whenver I saw the Nectar Ales before, I thought, perhaps subconsiously, that they were nectar or juice and stayed away. Looking for a new IPA six pack, I saw this and decided to give it a shot. Pleasant surprise. This is a session beer if there ever was one. Really good.
