Grima (2229) - Merzkirchen, RLP, GERMANY - DEC 17, 2010
500ml bottle! The beer in glass is beautiful dark ruby red poured with a fine, flat foam. The smell is very subtle, just a little caramel malt comes through. Starts also quite soft, caramel-malty, with subtle bitter background. The aftertaste is also shown bittermalty, and then the caramel remains dominant. The further course will be even softer, very palatable, and despite the softness of the flavors come through fine. A very well done, typical Franconian Dunkles!!!

The bottle looks really good, the beer in the glass also, dark, nice head. Starts malty, not too dry, modest sweet. Well balanced finish with some spicy notes, still warming-malty. I liked it!

Nice, deep mahogany body colour. Malt-grainy aroma. Dark malts in flavour, slightly roasted, added by liquorice and candy sweetness that is not too dominating. Just a dash of dry hops in the finish. One-third pint, 5.2% abv, draught from the German Bar, GBBF 04.08.2009.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. The smell is caramel, corn, malts, cereral, grains, and sort of weird like tameles. The taste is malts, cereal, cornmeal. The look is clear, light brown and has a white head.
