33cl bottle courtesy of Erzengel@kevnic2008’s exotic Kurstadt tasting 12/07/2014. Thinner deep mahogani pour. Healthy roast, mildly dosed like in a Bioladen. Assertively carbonated, shooting loads of that superficially-oaked toast to the roof of the mouth through a thin body. Neither creamy nor intense as advertised, still fine, style-typical porter.

Bottle 330ml. Pours very dark brown with a long lasting, dense, beige head. Aroma is weak, with notes of malt, yeast and sweet, earthy roasted notes, very slightly smokey (in a whisky kind of way). Mouth feel is lightly creamy to oily, with medium carbonation. Tastes of gently sweet malt, chocolate, roasted, slight coffee notes. Earthy, not too bitter hops. No sour notes, some tanginess in tongue. Very very light, easy too drink, well balanced, slightly to the sweet side. Bitterness is very mild. After taste is weak, chocolaty, toasty and sweetish. Not too complex or interesting, but not boring either. Quite nice, will be happy to drink as an easy day-to-day beer with friends or during dinner.

Thanks to DSG! Smooth with a very high carbonation. Dry, dark malt, fresh but not too deep. Dry-malt with a bit of a bitter aftertaste. Not too deep. 8/12/7/8

Well as many others have said, this is arguably the single best beer brewed in Israel. A solid porter, comes across both as a traditional and modern interpretation of the style. Begins with a excellent strong aroma of dark chocolate and oak barrel notes, rich and fresh. The appearance is absolutely flawless, a solid completely opaque brown black color with a good proportioned and long lasting khaki head, also good lacing noticeable. The taste is roasty, oaky, and rich chocolate and coffee notes, as advertised. The mouthfeel is very full-bodied, minus a point for being a little too carbonated. Finishes with a oak and dark chocolate aftertaste, distinct from anything else I've had before. Also coffee bean in the finish. I don't usually enjoy woody flavors in beers, but in this case it complements the chocolate cocoa taste well. Also something of a smokiness to this brew. So a complex and sophisticated brew overall, well crafted! I want to try more from Negev brewing, although I doubt they can top this!
