A truly great Porter! Strong black appearance, Dark brown foam. The strong roasted barley taste is well balanced by a certain sweetness and the Oak Aromas (mainly Vanilla) are very well noticed.

Trübes dunkelbraunes Bier mit schöner beigen Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr röstmalzig, würzig. Geschmack röstmalzig, Kaffee, zu viel CO2.

Well as many others have said, this is arguably the single best beer brewed in Israel. A solid porter, comes across both as a traditional and modern interpretation of the style. Begins with a excellent strong aroma of dark chocolate and oak barrel notes, rich and fresh. The appearance is absolutely flawless, a solid completely opaque brown black color with a good proportioned and long lasting khaki head, also good lacing noticeable. The taste is roasty, oaky, and rich chocolate and coffee notes, as advertised. The mouthfeel is very full-bodied, minus a point for being a little too carbonated. Finishes with a oak and dark chocolate aftertaste, distinct from anything else I've had before. Also coffee bean in the finish. I don't usually enjoy woody flavors in beers, but in this case it complements the chocolate cocoa taste well. Also something of a smokiness to this brew. So a complex and sophisticated brew overall, well crafted! I want to try more from Negev brewing, although I doubt they can top this!

Fine one with some really thick body and nice aromas of chocolate and coffe. Porters will never be my favourites but this one is classy with a warming background.

Bottle from tomer - many, many thanks! The porter pours out in a deep black body with low ehad and smooth body. Aroma of malt, chocolate and torf - really nice. Taste of deep malt, coffee, torf, leaves, chocolate and barley. Wonderful smooth to drink , enjoyed it a lot.

Bottle thanks to Keren! Sat on this one a while inadvertantly, but it is holding up well. Pours opaque black with little head, beige with some lacing. Aroma is roasty, cocoa, lactose, coffee. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter, roasty mocha with a touch of wood. Medium body, creamy. Nice enough beer.

Great porter with amzing aromas, of hope, Choclate and wood. Great taste like vanilla and coconut flavors. Some yeast taste wich was abit problematic.

Pours almost completely black color with a very generous cream colored head with medium retention. Aroma is quite strong - some roasted malts, slightly woody, heavy on the coffee and also slightly soury (wine/liquor) aroma. The taste is very bitter, roasted with some coffee. It’s not bad, but a bit too strong, too bitter for my liking. Otherwise very good.

Aroma: Roasted barley, alcohol, caramel, very inviting. Appearance: Right to style. Pours a very, very dark brown. The light brown head dissipates quickly, but laces well. Taste: Sweet from start to finish. Palate: More carbonation than I prefer in a porter, but it works well. Medium to full body, creaminess. Finish is long and chocolatey. Overall: Really impressed. My brother brought this back from Israel for me to try in New York. With no idea what to expect, this is a great interpretation of the style. Much creamier (oats?) than other porters I’ve had. The oak characteristics make this 5% beer feel more like a 8-10% beer, but I mean that in a good way. There is a unique sweet flavor that I cannot identify, but it’s not a bad one...just puzzling. Sad that I may never try this one again. Cheers!

A very good robust porter with a strong roasted coffee aroma, a rich and complex palate with notes of chocolate and coffee and well balanced sweetness. the oak chips give the beer its unique character and influence mildly the aroma and the taste.

Bottle in Jerusalem. Exp date: 08/2014. Pours black with a finger+ of mocha-colored creamy head, which settles quickly. Yeast film at base of bottle. Alcohol is prominent in the aroma, along with red wine, roasted malt, chocolate, and indeed oak. Some vanilla and leather. Coffee milk. Nice bouquet of smells, but they’re rather subdued. Taste, while enjoyable, is also on the subdued side -- roasted grains (buckwheat, barley malt) and hazelnuts. Nice bitter finish evoking coffee beans or cocoa nibs, but ephemeral. Body is full, texture is creamy, carbonation is soft, lacing is minimal.
