This dark vienna-munich type beer has had extraordinary acceptance in international markets. Exports to the U.S. began in the early 80´s, and have since attained great success in Europe, Australia, Central and South America.

I found this to be refreshing. Crisp and clean tasting. Uncomplicated. Nice lightly roasted malt flavors. Hops are noticable, and seem playful on the tounge. Highly drinkable.

UPDATED: MAR 16, 2005 This is like a Mexican Amber Bock, but it is a bit less fake tasting.

Bottle - darkish-reddish amber in color with an off-white head. Fairly malty with a hint of hops. Good for a Mexican beer.

bottled from local bodega-Dark reddish amber color, smelt a nice malty aroma.thinner than it looks, which hurts this beer in my opinion. Decent Considering It’s from Corona

Looks like an acceptable dark amber beer. Actually can taste some dark malt, some bitterness, and some floral hops. Even a hint of chocolate! Least bad or most intersting of the Mexican beers I have had.

Certainly among the best Mexican beers around, albeit no way near Casta Morena. Sweet and malty with hints of chocolate. Lightly bitter. Disappointing mouthfeel considering the style and ABV - probably due to the use of rice.

Probably the best of the Mexican beers that I’ve had. Richer in taste than Dos Equis, but still less body than I expect in a dark beer. Flavor is malty with a hint of caramel. Good beer, but for the price better beers are available.

Not too bad coming from the same country as corona. Has a brown color with a taste similiar to dos equis.

This is my favorite mexican beer. Has a good balance of spice and sweetness. Much better than Corona or Dos Equis.

UPDATED: AUG 25, 2011 By the very low standards of Mexican lager this one is almost enjoyable. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer pours a nice chestnut color. Wow, I thought, a dark beer made in Mexico? Small tan head. Faint malty and nutty aroma. The flavor was malty and sour with a hint of molasses. The sourness dominates and a bitterness lingers on the aftertaste. Well at least the color was good for a Mexican beer.
