I tasting of Negra Modelo was somewhat botched, as it was placed in the freezer for quick cooling, but left in a bit too long. As a result, the head was frozen, and the beer was too cold for the first few sips. Expectedly, the taste improved as it warmed. Nice red, mahogany color. Good persistent head, but that might have been the ice crystals preventing disappation. Not as good as I recall, but once again, that might have been due to the freezing.

Not impressed. Since I was having Mexican, it just seemed like the thing to do. It may be good, but I am just not fond of Vienna.

Pretty good for a Mexican beer. Dark, though it is from from a porter. Had a bit of a watered down taste, but what was left of it was pretty good. Not too bitter. Especially good for a beer from Mexico.

Not bad for a Mexican beer. Crisp and dry. A little on the watery side but would go well with salsa and chips.

A very basic vienna style lager. Very drinkable.

Surprisingly decent Mexican dark beer, not a stout or anything, but better than most beers brewed south of the border.

A very satisfying dark beer. Better than the Dos Equis Vienna Red Lager I normally order. A good, full malty body with a nice hop balance.

Thank God for this beer. If it wasn’t for this beer there wouldn’t be anything fine to drink at most Tex/Mex places here in the states. Nicely light malt flavor with a hint of a smooth roasted character. Mild hops and crisply fermented. Well paired with mole or anyhting spicy and meaty.

It is the best of the available mexican brews. That said it isn’t among the best vienna styles I have had.

Terrific beer. Nice with or without lime. Great with taco’s or just chillin’. Same price as about any beer on a menu, I get it at restaurants.
Cool looking bottle, surprisgly dark. A good intro to darker beers that scores extra points for being 6%.
