This dark vienna-munich type beer has had extraordinary acceptance in international markets. Exports to the U.S. began in the early 80´s, and have since attained great success in Europe, Australia, Central and South America.

I get this beer when I can't decide if I want a banana, a coffee, or a beer. To me it tastes like a mix of the three.

Got this with a lime wedge. i can see doing that with an awful beer like Corona, but not this. Nice dark color with a good hoppy taste. the best Mexican beer i've had so far.

Toasted malt nose on the pour is very good. Unfortunately the beer always looks crappy when poured as its large CO2 bubbles quickly dissipate leaving a watery over carbonated product in the mug. Flavor is actually pretty good for a macro brew, but the lack of body and overcarbonation make this beer much worse than it really is.

Why do restaurants ruin this with a lime wedge in the opening? A big roasted barley and caramel flavor creeps through this one. It's a little thinner than expected, but a good beer nonetheless.

This really is a fairly decent beer. Their is not much aroma, but it is fairly malty for a Mexican made beer.

The first one goes done smooth, better than Corona but I can't drink more than one. Maybe it is the 36 degree C heat.

Very unique, caramel/brown-sugary flavor. Nice carbonation balace, but mouthfeel is too watery. Nice, but not great by any means.

Dark red color. caramel in the aroma. Smooth flavor with a malty feel. One of the more solid Mexican beers out there.

As a general rule, there's only one day a year that I drink Mexican beer, Cinco DeMayo. And the only Mexican beer I voluntarily drink is Negra Modelo. With that said, on to the review. Slightly darker than amber color. Typical Mexican lager taste, with a slight hint of the darker malts. Head was nothing to speak of. Same for hops.

Dark garnet red color body with quickly disappearing head. Has distinct Mexican beer bouquet...I cant really localize it, though. Palate has a very good body, with very mild carbonation. Not too sure what I taste. Beer does not seem overly hoppy, and the finish is good without bitterness or ethanol flavor. I think it's a pretty good social drink.
