Surprise dark beer with a lager taste. Great bottle. Good to keep in the fridge to surprise visitors.

The napa bus driver insisted that after wine tasting you drink a pale lager. This beer was a piece of shit. Brown sugar water. Mostly water. Light carb. What incredibly low quality.

Aroma and taste is malty and sweet with hints of caramel. Not the best beer in the world, but a decent beer for its type.

Clear amber colour with a smooth off white hed. Aromas of bready, lightly toasted malts with some light fruity esters. Softly carbonated rather smooth and medium bodied. Offers malty sweetness with a hint of bitterness. Somewhat lasting finish. Drinkable.

Surprisingly pretty good for a dark Mexican Beer. Probably the best Mexican beer I’ve had...meaning better than Corona & Dos Equis;)

When I saw this Amber beer from Mexico at the shelf I just HAD to try it!

I’ve been warned from beerfriends but I want to get my own opinion about this beer.

The beer is clear, deep brown, copper colored with a one finger high, beige, head that leaves no lacing on the glass.

Nose: Not much here... Some carmel malt, fudge, bread, brown sugar, syrup, butter and grass.
Taste: Lager-like... Some sweetness, caramel, brown sugar, dried fruit, a bit of chocolate and malt.
Mouth: Light mouthfeel and carbonation. Easy drinking. Some sweetness. Oily texture.

Not that bad really! Nothing to write home about but still...

It is an acceptable dark beer. I drank this one a lot of times in Mexico not too hard to find. There is a nice hazelnut-brown colour, a bit creamy and reasonable malt and carbonation.

Draft pour pint, garnished with lime. Pours a dark amber with no head. I remember always going to this at Mexican restaurants in my earlier drinking days because it was the one Mexican beer with flavor. I love Mexican food, especially spicy, so I’m no stranger to the usual lagers. High carb here. Majority malt flavor. Nutty finish. Not bad.
