Poured into a wide flute glass. Dark copper color with a tight inch and half of head. Looks nice. Smells malty but there is a hint of corn... which does not help. It would be great without that bit of corn. Watery taste at first, then malty (every so slightly roasted malt), finishes with a mild hop presence. Nothing too impressive. Light and crisp in the mouth. Low carbonation. Easy to drink. Overall for a dunkel lager it lacks the malt body, however for an easy drinking lager it is nice.

Poured from 12 oz bottle into pint glass Appearance: pours a thin white head that falls quickly. Very mild lacing. Color is a clear light brown with moderate streaming carbonation. Aroma: lightly roasted barley and not much else. Very mild. Mouthfeel: light and frothy with a somewhat dry finish. Flavor: a bit of caramel and nuttiness, toasted bread, maybe a hint of hops in the finish. Overall: light and easy drinking, I’m sure this will pair well with carb-heavy, spicy Mexican food.

Far too much alcohol in the taste for me. It also tastes quite cheap. Not my kind of beer.

Bottle in tulum mexico. Aroma is subtle, but with a bit of maltiness. Very clean and smooth , good body for the style. Finishes with just a bit of dryness but still smooth.

Brune claire, reflet orangé translucide. Mousse qui diminue vite couleur beige. Sensation aqueuse, touche de caramel, légère acidité en fin de bouche

UPDATED: DEC 13, 2014 I rated this beer for what it is and what it’s supposed to be. An easy drinking beer that goes great with spicy food. My favorite Mexican brew. Having pepperoni, onion and serano pepper pizza with this beer. If your expecting a hop bomb double IPA this isn’t it and every beer doesn’t have to blow you’re taste buds. Taste good, refreshing.

Absolutely terrible. A poor man’s take on a dark beer and goes hand in hand with the regular terrible modelo.

Rich brown colour with light white head. Aroma holds notes of caramel. Taste is effervescent and smooth with notes of caramel and nuts. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Nearly opaque brown with a quickly dissipating head. Stunted roast, chocolate, dried fruit and caramel aroma. Surprisingly not bad. Smooth, but also slightly thin and watery. Each sip lacks complexity and longevity of flavour, but mild roast, chocolate, and caramel all coalesce and present an enjoyable taste, albeit slightly weak. Absolutely no hops. Simple and smooth.

Clear dark chocolate body.No head with minimal bubbles on top. Roast chocolate aroma with a touch of spice. Smooth and malty on the tongue. Crisp and refreshing. Touch of roasted malt with a chocolate like quality but crisp. Clean wet finish. This should be the Mexican beer of choice and not the one with the lime in it.
