355ml bottle. Pours a crystal clear, dark caramel colour with a half finger, off-white, bubbly head that fades quickly. Aroma has notes of caramel, bread, and a touch of vanilla, and spices. Taste is mild. A leaning towards malty but lightly balanced with a hint of caramel on the finish. Low-medium body and carbonation. Clean and refreshing in the mouth. Overall not bad but not an all star. Drinkable and refreshing as to not be offensive to most people. Probably wouldn’t buy again just because there are so many other things to buy.

Transfer from BA review on 1-22-13- Poured from bottle into pint glass Appearance – The beer poured a medium brown color with hints of ruby. Upon pouring a smaller tan colored head is formed on the brew which faded relatively fast to leave only a light level of lacing. Smell – The aroma was a mix of caramel and wheat. Mixed with these aromas was a light nutty and herbal smell as well. Taste – The taste begins with a sweeter caramel malt with hints of roasted malt mixed within. Flavors of wheat bread mingle with these and as the taste advances more toward the middle flavors of a nutty flavor come to the tongue. The flavors to this point are all relatively light and at the end are joined by a lighter herbal hop taste, overall leaving a somewhat roasted yet oddly thin flavor on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer was on the thinner side with a carbonation level that was very average. A thicker creamier body would have likely suited the nutty and roasted flavors, helping to enhance them more. Overall –Not really a brew I would recommend. It isn’t off in any way, but isn’t on in any way either.

One of those Mexican Vienna lagers from the same brewery that makes Corona Extra. Light beige, loose, thin but fairly stable head, colour a deep brownish copper, cristal clear. Caramelly and resinous profile, some chocolate liqueur, walnuts and roses, but an artificial syrupy sweetishness too; mildly bitter, thin finish. At least much better than Corona.

Drank from 12oz bottle with slice of lime. Incredibly refreshing beer. Very light and balanced for having such a dark color profile. My new favorite mexican beer. --you've been Dubbed.

Minimal head with no lacing. Entirely malt aroma. Very smooth and light but with little to no character in the taste. Will probably not buy again.

This is one of the original special beers when imports were the only beer with flavor. I have to imagine this beer and ones like it inspired the craft beer revolution we know today. A Mexican beer that tastes a bit like Germany. It survived the dry craze and the ice craze. Best enjoyed ice cold with enchiladas smothered in spicy salsa verde, while staring into the eyes of an equally spicy sexy latina sitting across from you.

From a glass bottle in a cold glass at el sol y la luna. Refreshing for a darker beer.

My first try of this, and I like it. Clear, brown / amber colour, no head on it immediately after pouring. Light body but not weak and watery, with decent carbonation. Flavours of malt, caramel and a hint of banana.
