Bottle. Nice and black stout with a thick, lasting head (the way I like it). Aroma is hard to describe, but pleasant. Taste is dominated by the oatmeal bitterness, although I can sense some sweet dark barley malt in the background. Love the bitter finish.

Love this beer and finally got it in saskatchewan. Pours black with a good inch tan head. Aroma is roasted and chocolate malt. Nice roasted malt and hint of chocolate flavour. Only down side is it could be darker and more complex. Body is a bit light. Don’t understand the organic gimmick but top each their own. Cheers!

Clear deep dark amber, foamy tan head settles and mostly lasts. Rich sweet aroma of chocolate and dark toasty malt. In contrast the first sip is sharp bitter coffee bean, followed by bittersweet dark roasted chocolate malts, some nuttiness. Soft smooth carbonation, medium-full body, moderately hopped. Clean coffee

pours black with tan head. Roasted malts, coffee, and dark chocolate make up the aroma. Tastes is very roasty, some coffee but not alot of depth. Medium low mouthfeel, some bitterness in the finish. Not a bad stout but not impressive either

Nice sweet vanilla aroma. But the taste was not great. Roasty but thin and not a lot of flavour.

Bomber. Can’t believe this is my first by Nelson. Very dark brown, beige dissipating head. Nose is smoke, roast, coffee. Flavour is smoke, black coffee, oats, almost acrid. Palate is very thin, especially considering the oats. Carbonation is very low. I ALMOST really liked this one, but fell flat in a couple of ways.

Pours nicely, smooth drinking, not overly sweet, low salt. Hints of vanilla and smoke flavours. Overall enjoyable and unobjectionable, but without a distinct character that would have me seek it out.

Bottle to a tulip, nice black beer with a fairly rich off-white head. Not detecting much of anything in the way of nose, but the flavour really does make up for it; quite rich on the tongue, bitter coffee backed up by sweet chocolate, comfortable hops on the way down. A very nice oatmeal stout.
