341ml bottle pours brown in color with a finger of off-white head that settles quite quickly and leaves only a small amount of lacing on the glass. Aroma is roasted grains and chocolate with an interesting blend of spice. Taste is a chocolate malty sweetness with some roasted bitterness followed up with a leafy hop bitterness. This is a very well done brew that is nice and tasty.
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Powertrip (999) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 10, 2012
Single can purchased from Zyn Liqour in Calgary, AB on 12/27/2011. Colour: A stunning dark brown with red hues and creamy off-white head of medium height. Nose: Melting cocoa is dominant, soft plum plays about, roasted red pepper, a dose of malt vinegar and the slightest hint of peanut butter. Absolutely awesome. Taste: Medium-light sweet, medium-light bitter, light sour. Pounds of roasted malt and coffee bean come forward. Soft caramel blankets the edges. Suttle burnt bitterness rounds things out. Fantastic stuff!

This is a very unique and tasty brew. The pour is a dark amber with a finger of beige head. Alot of lacing on the glass. The nose is has tons of toffee, biscuit and a surprising roasted note. A light winter spice of nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice and a light hop. The taste is quite similar with a big chocolate note and a great roasted malt, sweet toffee and biscuity malts in the middle. A light hop and light winter style spice. A slight presence of alcohol and a small aftertaste of spices. Overall, a great brew.
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 zeek (155) - British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 29, 2010
Clear dark brown with small head. Aroma of roasted malts and sugar. Something else in aroma, hard to place, maybe the molasses. Bitter hops overcome slight sweetness in taste.
3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 VerticalBaconStrips (1899) - Assat, Alberta, CANADA - JUN 11, 2009
I have never tasted anything like this before - very unique indeed! Brown beer with a tiny ammount of off-white head that goes to a skim quickly. However, there was excellent lacing during the top half of the tasting. Where is the carbonation? Amora is of sweet roasted malts, a hint of cinnamon, nutmeg and some other mystery flavours. Light taste of alcohol too. Bizarre flavour that I can’t quite put my finger on - I like! What the hell is this thing? I did find a lot of roasted malts with some nutmeg and mild pepper and....well, I don’t really know. Medium bodied, ok swish and pretty smooth. Middle bitterness and finished sort of dry. A very suprising beer.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Cirrhosis (1074) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - JUN 5, 2009
Brown body with slight orange showing through, good sized cap appeared during pour but vanished rather fast, a small skiff remained for the rest of the tasting and that skiff did leave so nice lacing behind. What the hell is this smell, I’ve never smelt a beer that even came close to this I swear I’m smelling cream cheese icing?!?!? Tangy, spicy, nutmeg wow is this ever a strange brew, so unique smelling, very nice. Sweet tasting dark malts go down very smooth, medium bodied and with good carbonation. Cinnamon, cream, and other mystery spices are abundant in this malty brew. Very drinkable and very unique, I can’t even begin to describe this beer because so different but still very good.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 tiggmtl (4516) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 13, 2009
Dark malts, sugary sweetness, some corn in the nose. Clear brown body is topped by a decent off white-tan head that recedes rather quickly to a partial cover and ring with some lacing. Brown sugar sweetness. is offset by dark malts with plenty of hop bitterness. Lasting toasted malts in the aftertaste. Medium body with quite strong carbonation that prickles the tongue and cheeks. Tulip glass. Cellar temperature. Can purchased at the BCLS at Hellsgate in Apr-09.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 georgekessel (68) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 11, 2008
Can: Purcahsed at 41st & Oat BCLBD. Pours a medium head that quickly fizzes down to a thin, tan head. Deep Orange-brown body. Delicious smells of toasted honey, spices and a sweet smell of hops. This year it tastes a bit more ’hoppy’ then two years ago. A tad watery but overall quite a nice winter ale. NOW ORGANIC WOO HOO
