pintbypint (881), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Oct 14, 2007 341ml brown bottle. Very pale, washed out yellow colour. Head is small, creamy and short lasting. No lacing to speak of. A little haze. Aroma is wheaty with a little tanginess. Flavour has a noticeable grassy hop character which I was not expecting, obvious wheat notes, grain and mineral notes as well. Grass carries over to the aftertaste. Light thin body with a lot of carbonation. I could see this beer as an acceptable thirst quencher in the summer months, though there are probably better choices. BeerPrince (1701), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Sep 10, 2007 Light straw and hazy colour with medium head. Citrusy aroma with a touch of wheat. Flavour is thinner and not too much wheat character. Yeast is a little off it appears as the beer warms. Tipsy_McStager (823), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Jun 4, 2007 Light grassy, yeasty aroma. Pours a pale, slightly cloudy yellow, white head. Mostly wheat, grassy flavour. Some acids in the finish. Patio drinking beer, but no enough to bring you back for more. DuffMan (1962), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Jul 9, 2006 side-by-side comparison of two local American wheats: this one and Grasshopper by Big Rock. Liplock is much lighter in colour, a very pale yellow with a slight haze to it. With the Big Rock beer there is a definite wheaty estery component to the nose, but with this one it is more tangy, and slightly lemony. Grasshopper has more of a wheaty palate too, whereas this one is pleasantly light and a little tart, but without much substance to it. A refreshing summer beer to be sure, but not a lot of character to comment on. CapFlu (3340), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada Jul 6, 2006 (341ml bottle) Purchased from the BC Liquor Store at Cambie for $1.92. Usually I like the beers from this brewery but this selection was somewhat weak. Pours a frothy medium head with a clouded yellow body. Nose of white wine (?), yeast and dough. Flavour is milky, horseblanket and weak soggy yeast. Its almost a poor Pils wheat with less excitement.
