Slightly thin dark mild appearance. Creamed corn aroma. Tinned veg taste. Burnt, tangy, but lacking. Probably had a duff one.

Cask gravity at Kent BF 07. Black, very dark brown, disappearing tan head. Slightly raisiny dry fruity aroma. Little bit thin in mouth. V. decent hop on finish. Some choc. Decent malts. Fine, if a tad acidic.

Cask Handpump at the Kelham Island Tavern, Sheffield 23/06/2007 Fruity aroma. Dark slightly rich on the palate and fruity with some dryness and bitterness in a crisp full roast finish.

A Sim rate (cask at the Wenlock): Sweet aroma of musty grandparents’ homes, but in a good way. It’s a mixture of endearing veg (like cabbage), slightly dusty mantles and dogs recently bathed with the garden hose and now drying slightly in the drifting summer sun. It’s the wood from the sturdy front door and the asbestos-ridden paint job. Comforting, if not very good for you. Taste is distinctly nuttily mild. Nice. I enjoyed it.
