harrisoni (5474), Ashford, Kent, England Sep 20, 2008 Cask handpull at The Phoenix, Canterbury. Distinctive Nelson yeast on aroma. In the mouth the malts are good, some roast, and then quite parching hop finish. It’s a pleasing beer, lots of flavour and I was quite impressed. chriso (4420), London, Greater London, England Oct 9, 2004 I thought this was a pretty decent best bitter. Amber colour. Quite hoppy aroma, with hop bitterness coming through even more strongly in the flavour. Dry, very bitter finish. Quite austere, but refreshing. Cask (handpump), Market Porter, Southwark.

Light on the palate and very bitter. Hoppy finish. imdownthepub (4248), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Jan 26, 2008 Cask conditioned at The Woolpack, Banbury. Gold amber with white head. Pretty straight forward standard bitter, nothing outstanding. A restrained hop finish with a cereal malt body, pretty uninspiring. Average. SilkTork (3949), Rochester, Kent, England Aug 18, 2003 Updated: Aug 3, 2008 Aug, 2003: Cask, The Elephant, Faversham. fresh and very good condition (the pub, which is owned by the brewery, is now under new owner). Apple flavour, quite sweet, but not overdone. Tasty body, but slightly watery and vast vanishing finish. [2.9]
Sept, 2004: The Market Porter Gathering. Apple. Fresh and tasty session bitter. Crisp and refreshing. [3.0]
July, 2008Bredburst Bell Run of the mill best bitter. Dusty hops without character or interest or fragrance, and an OK malt. Decent for a Nelson. [2.7]
