Sample - North American Organic Brewers Festival - Portland, OR
Aroma – A decent malt backing with some light hops added.
Appearance – Amber in color with a nice head and clear.
Flavor – This was a very average Amber ale. The malt was light and the hops where too light for this beer. Needed a splash more to be a great beer.
Palate – Decent Mouthfeel, Crisp texture with a dry finish.
Overall – A very average beer. Being from Canada I was hoping it would have more umph added to it.

I concur fully with the reviews given so far: this is a weak and unnecessary beer.

The problem I have with some honeyed lagers and ales is that many are too sweet for me to really enjoy. This one reigns in on the sweetness factor, but some honey character is still evident in the aroma and flavour. However it is a little on the thin side and the finish has a boxboard dryness to it that is quite flat. Not bad though.

(Bottle) Purchased at the BC Liquor Store at Fairfield Plaza, Victoria. Its kinda odd to see this beer next to its Winter cousin, Faceplant. I guess Nelson really doesn’t sell overly well on the Island? Pours a thin, almond-coloured head with a deep amber body. Nose of fireweed honey, caramel and some mild brown sugar. Flavour is rather flat - lightly malted with a pleasant sweetness but a doughy and spiced thin texture. Not one of the better presentations from this fine brewery.

Bottle.Hazy amber, no head. Spicy papery aroma. Awfull chemical flavor, cardboardy. Watery. Peppery aftertaste.
