COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The proud piece of our brewery! Lightly amber coloured beer of 8,3% alc.vol. At the tasting of the first brewery, a beer expert noticed: "This is an amazing pint!" (In Atwerpener dialect: "Da’s een bangelijk’ goei pint!"). And so the name was found.

Test vom 29.5.2007, Gebinde: Fass Noten: 13,11,11,12,-,11 - 11,36

On tap at the brewpub (Pitcher). Clear golden body with a big, creamy white head. Aroma is fruity and yeast with a hint of canned vegetables. Flavor is sweet, light malty, some caramel, fruity, spicy, yeast and a bit metallic. Kinda drinkable but nothing really special and frankly a bit “too much” after a while. The alcohol is quite hidden.

250ml poured from tap at the brewhouse. Almost clear golden body. Naked surface. A kind of perfumed aroma of pears. Pears and dried fruits in the taste profile followed by an ending that has got slightly metallic alcohol touch. So and so (Antwerpen, 29.04.2011).

27/02/2011 - on tap @ ’t Pakhuis (2011-72)

Clear golden to amber coloured beer, white creamy head, stable and adhesive. Aroma: orange peel, yeast, spices, on warming up the alcohol is more present as is a certain sweetness. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: hops, citrus, bit malty, spices. Aftertaste: hops, citrus and orange peel, a bit metallic in the cheeks when cold, this gets better on warming up.
Note:As with the brown beer, it is served way too cold from tap. Probably around 3 to 4 °C. Warming up the glass with both hands is strongly advised!

(Draught at the brewpub) The beer poured pale golden and clear. Its head was quite large and white. Aroma was fruity and mildly peppery. Palate was medium bodied and warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, alcohol, sweetness, hint of yeast, hops and bitterness. Aftertaste was bitter.

Draft at the brewpub.
Clear golden beer with a small lacing off white head. Fruity and liqueric aroma with a malt based character, raisins, vanilla and butterscotch. Oily texture, malt and fruits, some spicie-biting hop and alcohol in the finish.

esox (1177) - Oulu, FINLAND - MAR 4, 2010
Brewery tap. Crystal clear, hay-coloured beer with medium-sized and a bit soapy head. The aroma is quite malty, wheaty, sliglty fruity (banana) and spicy. Rather hoppyish finsih with some alcohol. The flavor is sweetish and caramelly, medium bitter and somewhat alcoholic. Quite obvious spiciness. The palate is medium bodied, slightly sticky and alcoholic. Overall a quite robus and too alcohol beer, but it has some nice fruity and spicy elements.

On tap@the brewery. Huge lasting platina blond foamy head. Pale amber colored body. A fresh yeasty scent at first, then whiffs of a candy-like fruityness. Notes of flowers (jasmin) and perfume. Fresh orangey fruit flavor, medium sweet with some mild caramellish malts. Mild bitterness. Strong body. Nice warm and creamy mouthfeel. Tasty and well rounded.

From tap at the brewpub. Pours clear and golden yellow with a huge white head leaving a nice lacework on the glass. Aroma is mild spiced and cornish, light butterish too. Spiced and mild caramel malty flavour with a mild spice note and light bitternes. Ends with a light yeasty phenolic note on the back of the nose. Quite smooth and pleasent.
