COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Nepalís Mustang. Brewed with natural ingredients. Discover flavors of a lost kingdom.... "....a land where the soul of the man is still considered to be as real as the feet he walks on, where beauty and happiness abound in spite of hardships." - Michel Peissel (Mustang, 1967)

Bottle. Clear Pale gold in colour with minimal foam. Honey & Malt aroma. Pleasant, yet slightly watery mouthfeel with sweet malty flavour typical of style. Medium to dry finish with hint of light citrus hops. Typical commercial Lager style. Nothing special but has a weird sherbet zing on the mid palate which was off putting.

>> Funny, never once saw this for sale in Nepal. Sparking gold pour, detergent head. Soapy retention. Nose is corn, paper, mildew, candy corn. Taste is inoffensive- soft body, candy corn, cardboard, white bread, mild sugar. Itís drinkable, but forgettable and missing needed bitterness.

Kolor - złoty, klarowny. Piana - drobna, wysoka, średnio trwała. Zapach - słodowo-kwiatowy. Smak - wyraźny słůd, lekka nuta owocowo-kwiatowa, średnia słodycz, lekka goryczka. Do gaszenia pragnienia ok.

Bottle from Queens Plaza Beer & Wine 050315. In the words of Gus Gould - No No No No No. Horrid on all levels.

Tasted 15/12/2014. BB 25/05/2015. Poured a clear pale golden colour with a few white bubbles as a collar. No lacing. Carbonation very low and coarse. Aroma of slightly sweet malt and grain is quite pleasant but typical of a lager; no obvious hops. Taste of slightly sweet malt but no hops bitterness; malt dominates. Light body. Crisp refreshing smooth mouthfeel typical of a lager. Very similar to Nepal Ice Premium Lager.

33 cl bottle from a market in Hong Kong, 5.5%, bottled august 2013. Gold color, clear, short compact white head. Grainy and malty nose. Aroma is grainy, malty, citrus, grass. Taste is sweetish, acidic. Dry finish, carbonated, light to medium body. Meh, average.

Pale gold, creamy white head. Very yeasty and bready, light crackery malts. Easy drinking and went well with the food we had in Big Bear.

Apparently the íflavors of a lost kingdomís include acetaldehyde. Green appley throughout, almost like watery cider mixed with pale lager. Not offensive but pretty blah.

330 ml bottle bought at Jasonís Food & Living in Hysan Place, Causeway Bay. Not-so-pale golden yellow colour; Very thin head and white foam which fades in 30 seconds; Minimal lacing and fizzy carbonation; Smell of sweet malt, bread and light grass; Light sweet taste of full malt, very faint wet cardboard / cold tablets, moderate citrus and pretty strong grassy hops. Light chalk shows up as the beer warms; Medium body; Pretty oily palate; Mouthfeel is dominated by sweet malt in a very light cold tablets / chalky background, followed by citrus / grassy hops to finish. Hop bitterness is quite assertive, much stronger than most macro lagers but still not to the level of German Pils; Slight dry after taste, quite easy to mouth.

Comments: Man, and you thought these guys at some remote corner of the World know nothing about beers. Based on the look, body and taste, this is indeed a premium lager, and I believe the brewer has put in quite a lot of efforts and hearts to it. Still, they have the work cut out on the malt sweetness and cardboard taste (no matter how light) before it can be considered as a good one. Overall itís so-so and drinkable, and I am glad I donít have to pay double the price at some Nepalese restaurants to have it. A nice geography tick for me BTW. :)

Bottle at Indian restaurant in Shibuya. Appearance is unsurprisingly pale lager like, bit creamy not so much bitterness, clean tasting, surprisingly drinkable. Aroma not much there aside from a lager smell. Not unpleasant, but a bit unexciting. Bit helles like.
