2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20 kerenmk (1214) - Tel Aviv, - SEP 5, 2012Bottle sample at a tasting in our place. Thanks DSG. Pours clear pale golden with a quickly dissolving white head. Dry, lime/whitewash aroma, tastes sweet, medicinal, fruity and smokey in a weird, wrong way. Light body, a little sticky and sleek.
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 GoufCustom (221) - HONG KONG - MAR 18, 2013
330 ml bottle bought at Jason’s Food & Living in Hysan Place, Causeway Bay. Not-so-pale golden yellow colour; Very thin head and white foam which fades in 30 seconds; Minimal lacing and fizzy carbonation; Smell of sweet malt, bread and light grass; Light sweet taste of full malt, very faint wet cardboard / cold tablets, moderate citrus and pretty strong grassy hops. Light chalk shows up as the beer warms; Medium body; Pretty oily palate; Mouthfeel is dominated by sweet malt in a very light cold tablets / chalky background, followed by citrus / grassy hops to finish. Hop bitterness is quite assertive, much stronger than most macro lagers but still not to the level of German Pils; Slight dry after taste, quite easy to mouth.
Comments: Man, and you thought these guys at some remote corner of the World know nothing about beers. Based on the look, body and taste, this is indeed a premium lager, and I believe the brewer has put in quite a lot of efforts and hearts to it. Still, they have the work cut out on the malt sweetness and cardboard taste (no matter how light) before it can be considered as a good one. Overall it’s so-so and drinkable, and I am glad I don’t have to pay double the price at some Nepalese restaurants to have it. A nice geography tick for me BTW. :)
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 shoulderbroken (1144) - Tokyo, JAPAN - FEB 1, 2013
Bottle at Indian restaurant in Shibuya. Appearance is unsurprisingly pale lager like, bit creamy not so much bitterness, clean tasting, surprisingly drinkable. Aroma not much there aside from a lager smell. Not unpleasant, but a bit unexciting. Bit helles like.
2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 maekchu (1090) - Hirakata, JAPAN - OCT 19, 2012
Bottle at local Indian restaurant. Soda pop fruity nose. Light pale straw. Big cardboardy initial; mid is fizzy and candyish; final brings a touch of bitterness. Thin body. Fizz and sweetish cardboard is really the whole thing.

0.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20 tomer (1221) - Rishon Le Zion, ISRAEL - SEP 8, 2012
Bottle at a tasting, thanks DSG, clear yellow colour, flavour of honey and solvent, very strong artificial lingering sweetness with some bitterness trying to push through mostly in vain. God knows what this this beer has been through.
1.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20 DSG (3927) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - SEP 7, 2012
Bottle shared at a tasting at kerenmk’s place. Clear golden with a small quickly-diminishing head. Aroma has a bit of sourness, a bit infected-like, a bit of saccharine and some cereals. Sweet grainy flavor with a sour note and a slightly husky finish. Light-bodied.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 bytemesis (1413) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - JUL 2, 2012
Bottle. Pours pale yellow-amber with a medium fizzy white head with decent lacing. Aroma is very light, floral, a bit fruity. Flavor is NOT grainy, but rather a medium sweet floral, a bit of honey, light bitterness on the finish. Surprisingly pleasant actually, just a bit oversweet.
4.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 20/20 Tepuili (1) - Los Gatos, California, USA - FEB 7, 2012 does not count
I purchased a round of beers for me and my mates at Sweet Mango. It lived up the expectations set by my Nepali coworkers. Very fresh and different from other Asian beers that I’ve tried. It’s hard to find, as I have requested it at other restaurants.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 cblado (221) - Washington, USA - NOV 5, 2011
12 oz bottle. Poured a golden amber color. Aroma was fruity with floral hops... unusual for a pale lager. The flavor had a surprising amount of character to it, very sweet, with a prominent alcohol flavor. Very lively on the palate. For a pale lager from Nepal, I wasn’t expecting much, but this was a pleasant surprise! I would definitely get this again, if I can find it anywhere else besides Annapurna restaurant in Seattle.
