3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Cool 50cl swing top bottle pours a deep ruby red amber-ish sort of color with a thin tan head of foam. The aroma offers up raisin, spiced red apple wedges and some hazel nut like nuttiness. The taste is similar as it puts out a mix of raisins, cherries and spiced red apples as well as a bit of roasted malts and nuttiness. Interesting estery and also nearly astringent maltiness at times.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Looks nice, after that it is pretty disappointing. Dark orange, slight haze, swirly white top. Nose is grain and a bit of malt. Palate is similar, a bid of dough. None of the complexity, esters, fruitiness I expect or need from a doppelbock. From Trader Joes.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Poured clear dark copper with a moderate to large light brown head that last with good lacing. Good caramel toasted malt aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture and soft carbonation. Good well balanced dark sweet malt flavor with a moderate smooth sweet finish of moderate duration. Good doppelbock.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours deep amber into a snifter. Off-white head with medium retention recedes to mottle surface. Sour caramel and pit fruit aromas. Soft with dark caramel and sweet toffee upfront turning to pit fruit before the lasting stale malt finish.

4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
It poured cloudy at first, but I was impressed by the bottling and capping techniques. The flavor was similar to darker beers, without that heavy mouth feel or stomach sit. Definitely one I’ll drink again.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A noticeable pop happens when you open the groclsh-top cork. Pours a deep amber color, it is highly carbonated with a slightly off white head. There is a sweet malt and toffee with a slight hint of peaches or plums. Hops not really noticeable in the nose, perhaps a hint of spice.
There is some caramel sweetness but has notes of wet paper ( potential oxidation) . There's a more noticeable hop bitterness on the back end, and it finishes sweet with some a tinny malty floral vibe. Some alcohol heat is noticeable and there is a creamy mouthfeel with medium heavy mouthfeel. Not sure if the bottle I had was old, but it seemed kind of oxidized and not expressly enjoyable.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a dusty gold color under a tall, off-white head.
The aroma is slightly sweet and floral.
The flavor is sweet on the front with some bitterness towards the back.
Maybe a hint anise in there.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Appearance was cloudy orangish amber with diminsihing creamy tannish 1 finger head, spotty lacing. Aromas are caramel, brown sugar, deep fruit, no alcohol or hops. Taste was sweet caramel sugars and slight cherry, date, fig, mild aclohol bite. Palate was soft creamy CO2 with meduim body, lasting alcoholic fruity sweet medicinal finish. Finish ruined it for me...
