COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The time has come to unleash this beast unto the world! Coconut Mudbank Milk Stout is a very limited variation of our Mudbank Milk Stout brewed with coconut milk, coconut cream, and ‘dry nutted’ with copious amounts of shredded coconut, all at a lovely 7.2% ABV. We only brewed 18 barrels of this, and by the time we rack it off we’ll probably be down to 14 barrels, and even a little less after we bottle and keg this beer. That means…..we don’t have a lot of this beer!

Bottle shared by Jake at weekly tasting. Pours dark brown with tan brown head. Nose/taste of toasted coconut, chocolate, light vaniilla and lactose milk sugar. Medium body. Much better as it warms.

Bottle from ?? - pours pitch with a clumpy tan head. Aroma is coconut and sweet from the lactose. It’s has some thickness on the palate. It’s surprising boozy for 7%. I’m confused by this one.

Bottle from unknown store. Pours black with a khaki head. Leaves a lot of lacing in the glass. I get a bit of the lactose on the nose but not so much on the tongue. There’s definitely coconut there but it’s more subdued than I was expecting. Finishes clean. Eh!

Bottle... RBSG 2014… Pours clear and dark-brown with brilliant flashes of crimson and a small, creamy, beige head. Good retention. The nose is of roasted nuts and milk chocolate. Full-bodied and velvety with tingly carbonation. The sweet, chocolaty and nutty flavor is flanked by a lengthy, roasty, lightly-bitter finish. I picked up no coconut here.

Bottle. Pours dark brown nearly black with a creamy tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate and had a hint of toasted coconut. Flavor was creamy smooth with roasted malts, chocolate, mild coffee, subtle coconut and had notes of nuttiness.

Bomber pours black with tan head. Aroma is roast and chocolate, taste is similar, hard to detect the coconut, but a nice milk stout

Bottle from Canal’s Berlin. Pours out a cola brown color with a small off white head. Aroma is roast, light chocolate, some sweet toasty coconut and mild creamy sweetness. Taste is a bit all over the place, milky coconut, toasted coconut, light nutty notes, mild roast coffee, smooth sweetness, some earthy.nutty coconut. Body slightly thinner than I’d like it.

Bomber with the bulging-eye coconut. Nose is roasty, chocolaty stout with coffee overtones, nuts. Pours deep dark brown-black with a ruby peeking out from underneath, supports a jiggling dense tan head. Taste is lightly sweet, light lactose under strong red berries, very nice smooth roast, mocha, nuts. Traditional ’coconut’ flavor is relatively mild here and gets lost with the sweetness somewhat, but the nuttier character is more evident and really developed, as if they toasted the shredded coconut before racking. Medium body is creamy and a smidgen oily, as if there were oats used here as well. No alcohol apparent other than in the eventual warmth in my torso, but even that’s mild; sticky lips and a surprisingly good maltiness for what I assume to be a simple bill. Good level of complexity and fun to drink!

Aroma Is chocolate, Toasted malt. Taste: chocolaty, very sweet. Very similar to neshaminy choc milk stout. Appearance Is dark black, off white head. Thinnish texture. Low carbonation. Suprised not to taste or smell any coconut.
