COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Since we’ve still got a solid four weeks left of summer we decided to throw a few batches of our German Hefeweizen into the kettle just before the short summer days are gone. Our traditional Hefeweizen is brewed with over 50% white wheat, pilsen malt, a hint of Munich malt for color, and fermented with an authentic German Hefeweizen yeast.

Torpedo bottle from brother in law. Xmas present. Pours a cloudy light tan amber color. Aroma of brown sugar, candy, sweet yeast, cooked banana. Medium light sweetness. Average carbonation. Same taste as aroma. Some malty sugary notes in this. Decent stuff. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hazy straw yellow body, medium sized white head, spotty lacing. Lemon, banana, clove, yeast, and wheat bread. Medium to full bodied, moderate carbonation, lingering finish.

Bottle from Hopshop. Pours golden with an inch of white foam. Doesn’t have much of the estery thing on the nose or tongue. It’s got a kind of citrus funk on the nose. There’s some banana flavor on the tongue but it’s not well balanced or particularly refreshing.

Bomber. Nose gets my dander up right away, has some watery citrus and that really slimy Weizen yeast character that bugs me; grainy wheat and some nice candyish esters, most enjoyably the strong banana. Hazy dark golden pour with a soapy beige head, much browner gradient with the later post-swirl pour [and I think this one absolutely benefits from the yeast]. Taste is sugary sweet, swimming in non-descript but very jammy fruity esters, wheat slime with low yeast; medium-strong carbonation in the medium-full body, very low bitterness, and again really strong ’nanas, some bubblegum. I’ve had to go slowly with this one, enjoy the character with sips but struggle against the sweet gag with longer drafts.

A typical hef with a pale yellow color and a fizzy white head. The aroma is sweet and light with a hint of lemon. The flavor is light with a bit of lemon. Very refreshing, nice summer beer.

Draft (served in a shaker!?). Cloudy orange with a finger thick white head. Aroma of cloves and banana. Medium body, but as much carbonation as I was expecting for a hefe. Tastes the same as the aroma. Not bad, average. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cloudy amber pour with no head. Aroma of wheat with some clove. Wheat flavor with clove, with just a hint of banana. Okay.
