3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Location: 22 oz bottle from Sparrow, 3/9/15
Aroma: A very heavy sweet aroma, raisin, fig, a little molasses, nutty nots, and some wheat
Appearance: Pours a dark brown color with a reddish hue, creamy beige head, and fairly heavy lace
Flavor: The taste is along the same lines, heavy sweet/fruity up-front, finishes on the nutty side
Palate: Drinks nicely, cloying, but not as cloying as you’d guess, average carbonation, sticky finish
I just realized I used the phrase "finishes on the nutty side" in my flavor review, which sounds like a road comic describing his mother-in-law. As for the beer, the cloyingness is held just enough in check to make this beer pretty enjoyable. I’m actually surprised I liked it as much as I did considering that I’m not usually a fan of this sweetness level without some balance, but this is a pretty nice beer. Even if it isn’t the perfect beer for me personally, I gotta bump the overall a bit due to the nice complexity.

on tap at Red Robin in Bensalem - taste is like a winter warmer. You can tell that the higher alcohol content is there along with some spice - good stuff.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours murky chestnut brown with a half finger tan head with pretty nice lacing. Aroma is of banana, toasted malts, chocolate, cinnamon, raisins, sweet malts, toffee, light spicy hops, and some honey comb. Taste is banana bread, toasted malts, bakers coco, brown sugar, honey, raisins, and cherries, and maybe the slightest amount of spicy hops, with a little booze in the finish. Has a medium-full body with as semi creamy mouthfeel and a mostly sweet, medium-long finish. Overall, a decent weizen bock that is a tad too sweet for my tasets

Transfer from BA review on 12-18-13-
Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a lighter brown-chestnut color with a one finger of tan colored head. The head has a good level of retention, very slowly fading over time to leave some nice streaky lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma isn’t as big as one may expect for a Weizenbock of 8.5 %. Aromas of a toasted malt and wheat along with some darker fruit smells of cherry and raisin are the strongest of the aromas. Other aromas of a yeasty smell as well as some spice aromas of clove are there as well. Some honey sweetness rounds out the smell overall giving a lighter Weizenbock smell.
Taste – The taste begins with a sweet taste of cherry and plum with some wheat and bready flavors and a bit of roasted malt. The sweeter flavors seem to intensify even more with more dark fruit flavors coming to the tongue as the flavor advances further. Along with the increase in sweetness, so too comes some lighter yeast flavors more toward the middle of the taste. Some banana flavors as well as some spice of clove also come to the tongue along with the yeast, giving it a nice fruity flavor at this point overall. A little bit of an apple flavor as well as some lighter grassy and herbal hop flavors come to the tongue at the very end of the taste, and along with the other flavors and a little bit of a rum and honey taste, give a rather sweet, fruity, and nice darker heavy flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the thicker and chewier side with a carbonation level that is on the lower side. Both are great for the big fruity flavors of the brew as well as wheat and roasted flavors, overall producing a rather nice creamy and enjoyable feel to the brew.
Overall –A fruity and sweet Weizenbock with nice big and thick flavors and a great feel. This is an enjoyable and robust brew that is nice for the cooler winter weather.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Nice to see this style on the US shores. A bit sweet, but even some of the German varieties are guilty of that. Dark brown body with near perfect beige head, thick and creamy, coats the glass. Aroma is sweet (raisins), taste is also led by the sweetness, but with the body of a decent hefeweizen nice and chewy. More sweetness on the finish.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Nice looking dark amber with a thin head. Not a lot of aroma to speak of. The flavor is caramel with a bit of sour fruit. Smooth but a little thin.
