Tribute Tripel – After countless water testing and system checks, Tribute Tripel was the first beer to be brewed at Neshaminy Creek Brewing. Overall, we’re really happy with the way the rampup on this beer turned out. We feel it’s very true to style of a classic Belgian Tripel, a Tribute if you will The 9.3% ABV is very deceptive, so don’t underestimate this beer. Sometimes American brewers have a tendency to use far to many spices in this style and don’t rely enough on the yeast to do what it does best, and for this style, that’s hugely important. The bitter orange peel and coriander add a citrus flavor and spice note that help this beer finish on the dry side. We’re hoping attenuation will be a tad better on the upcoming batches, because in my opinion this style can never finish dry enough, but overall the first batch of Tribute finished quite well and so far the feedback has been great.

Drank from a twelve ounce can. Has a nice sweet malty but slighty boosey nose. Nice smooth maltyness with a finishing boosey touch, nice brew.

Pours a light gold with no head. Aroma of banana esters and sweet malt. Taste follows. Not my style but tasty for what it is.

12 oz. can purchase at Liquor Outlet Wine Cellars, Boonton, NJ. The aroma is as expected: yeasty, fruity, bananas and mild spice.

I sampled this right after Gouden Carolus Tripel. (maybe not fair to this brewer) Taste was correct. Yeasty banana, mild pepper and dried fruit with a slight spiciness and dryness for the texture. The ABV is not exactly hidden, but not too obvious either. The element that felt off was the body. Body was thinner and just a touch off. A touch overly sweet. Still all things considered, decent.

Pours a hazy golden yellow color. Aromas of yeast, some fruit and spice. Taste is yeasty and medicinal, can really taste the alcohol in this one.

On tap at brewery in Croyden. Served in large snifter like glass. Thin head disapears quick. Little to no lacing. Beer is a clear golden color. Head is white. Aroma is yeasty with light fruite notes such as pear. Taste is medium sweet with very little bitterness. Notes of pear some faint citrus. Medium bodied beer with light to average carbonation. Overall a pretty solid tripel. Enjoyable.

On tap at Moonshine - Philly. Less than stellar appearance, soft creamy head. Subdued nose, but taste brings it back to center. Musty, herbal, floral, buttery mix. Body just a shade thin. Decent tripel.

Pours a very hazy, dark burnt orange color with tangerine edges and a one finger white head that slowly settles into a thin, lasting ring. Streaks of soapy lace left behind. Slightly spicy aroma with bready yeast and estery light fruit notes. Some pepper, clove and faint earthy hops followed by apple, pear and booze. Pale malt backbone with hints of bread and biscuit. Medium bodied with a slight creamy texture and a strong zesty spice presence up front that lingers over the bready yeast, light fruit notes and alcohol into a slightly dry finish. The spices are a bit overpowering with lots of pepper, clove, coriander and possibly some ginger. This takes away from estery fruit sweetness a bit but there’s still some vinous fruit, apple and pear flavor. Strong yeast component with banana and bread character before fishing with strong alcohol sweetness. Not hot per se but lots of alcohol flavor.

Pours clear and pale orange in color with a creamy head. Aroma of cloves, Belgian yeast, citrus juice. Flavor is malty sweet, grapefruit juice, and boozy as it warms. Too malty and sweet IMO. Just OK.
