3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask - The Glass House (JDW), Norwich. Poured with a large, dense light tan head that lasted and laced. Roasted malt aromas, dried fruits and some coffee on the aroma. More roasted, malt, some coffee again, plenty of dark & dried fruits with a dry, roasted malt/hop bitterness on the finish. Medium body, mostly soft in the mouth with a creamy, lingering finish.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: AUG 15, 2013 cask @ The King’s Arms. Uppnor Castle. Kent) A strange choice on tap in late june -but it was rather cold of course -thus this winter/summer warmer was fucken fine with me. Its a smoky deep brown colour, kinda beautiful but the head was too subtle for me. I wouldn’t say this beer had too much finesse really , it relies on rich tofee and chocolate vibes -married with booze in a simple but nice paced ale.

Half of my Dave at GBBF. Gravicask. Dark mahogany colour, thin light beige rim, no lace. Lovely rost and dark chocolate nose. Smooth earthy roast flavors. Velvet mouthfeel. Well hidden alc with a hint of bitterness towards the end. lovely

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Gravity at the Bree Louise, London. Porter-like appearance with a good head. Coffee and dark chocolate in the scent. Well balanced but unusually the sweetness comes before the bitterness. Citrus/lime tinge in the mouth, quite sticky, some berries on the end. A bit too sweet.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Chelmsford Beer Festival 2010. Thanks to Chris O for the recommendation. Frothy, creamy head, dark opaque colour, chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, nutty texture, sweet leathery yeast, wood, maple syrup, vanilla and a full bodied kick with a moderate sweet bitterness element and also a long finish. Enjoyed. A great beer.
