Golden colour with a fairly thick head, citrus in the aroma and a bit in the mouthful. Well-balanced, decent session beer. Surely a golden ale rather than a bitter?

Golden body, clean and white lace. Aromatic and grassy hops, pale light malts. Unimaginative but okay. (Pint at The George Inn)

Cask at the Fulflood Arms, Winchester - 09/09/12. Clear pale golden with a minimal off white head. Strong malt nose with a touch of grain and barley. Taste doesn’t really deviate from the nose, where are the hops? Meh ! Light to medium in body, pretty flat with hardly any carbonation. Boring.

UPDATED: OCT 15, 2012 Cask conditioned handpump Wootton WMC. A golden beer with an off-white coloured head and lacing. A sweet beer with strawberry notes throughout. Softer berry sweetness in the mouth. Drinkable and pleasant enough although the sweetness makes for it to lack sessionability. Score 3.2
Subsequent ratings scored 2.9 and 2.8. Average becomes 3.0

Cask @ The Walnut Tree, Leytonstone. Dark golden body with a small white head. Moderate aroma of caramel malt and a bit fruity. Flavor is light malty, hint of caramel and a bit fruity. Moderate bitterness. Medium body and moderate on aftertaste. Quite light, but decent, a bit plain and one-dimensional.

Cask, handpump @ The Liberty Bounds, Tower Hamlet, City of London.
Bright orange copper and capless bar a ring of white on the meniscus. Subtle nose of burnt sugar and caramelised plums, twiggy bark, barnyard malt and dried rose petals. Soapy in mouthfeel and rather subdued in flavour, the body otherwise light. Malt dominated, tastes of freshly baked oat cakes, with just a little peppery hop note late. Not much bitterness, drops off quickly, I think it’s too shy to stick around. Becomes quite woody as the pint empties, and some burnt sugar notes also shine through. An easy drinking, but not altogether interesting bitter.
