1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Must be for people that don’t lige beer, and has to mix it with lemon-juice. Not pleasent. Amber coloured and clear. Has a white head, diminishing. Odd mix of fatty lemon and beer. Flavor of sweet lemon-candy, then bitter.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle at home in London. Lyoli tried some, didn’t really dig it. Pours rich, clear gold with a small, foamy white head. Nose holds some distinctive lemon, citrus rind, hints of ginger spice, toasted malts, leaves. Light sweet flavor, some dank, sweaty lemon, toasty bread, leafy bitterness, mild toasted grass. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Mild bitter finish, mellow sweetness, some earth and leaves, lasting lemon rind, some background ginger that provides a very light bite. It’s decent beer, although at times a touch thin and with excessive grassy hops. Still, decent.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
50cl bottle from the Sainsbury’s Beer Hunt range. Amber with a compact cream head; aroma of ginger and lemon; fresh taste with ground ginger and lemon; and a underlying herbal bitterness. A pleasant and refreshing summer ale.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
500 ml bottle from Sainsburys served fridge cold in a large tulip. Bottle said the ABV was 4.0%. Bronze with a thin white head.Plenty of aroma- mainly pears and ginger. A bit strange on the taste buds: I enjoyed the juicy lemon ginger and spice flavours, but found the hop bitterness in the finish intruded. A genuine curates egg. Nice idea that is only partially successful for me.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle from Sainsburys Hessle. Golden brown, thin but lasting white head and gentle condition. Delicate lemon and spice in the nose with some background grain, very dry and bitter in the mouth with some citrus notes and a vague suggestion of ginger spiciness, lingering citrus in the finish but never very dominant.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle pours a clear yellow ale with a slim head that dissipates. Aroma is certainly an initial hit of ginger, success and lemon with a floral backing. The taste is of ginger followed by a dry or bitter herbal note with a clear lemon finish. Innovative, yes & I rather liked it.
