2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
bottle from Darts Farm Topsham. Hazy pale yellow, large white head and lots of lemon in the nose. Malty background, quite light, with lots of perfumy lemon flavours, seems quite artificial to me. Not my cup of tea.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cask @ Bedford Arms, Bedford. Golden amber. Still, almost no head. Hard to get past the ginger in the aroma. A bit of fruit but mostly ginger astringency. Spicy sweet ginger taste tempered by a sour bitter note that asserts itself more convincingly in the finish. Sour/bitter aftertaste. Weak but refreshing mouthfeel. Decent all in all, although I personally tend to dislike ginger beers I can appreciate its worth.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle from my local supermarket. Bronze amber with a medium to thick white head. Aroma has lemons, ginger, faint blokes toilets. Flavour has no toilet thank fuck, bitter lemons and more ginger. Wasn’t really my thing.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle from B&M Bargains; clear light amber pour with thin white head, lemon and ginger aroma, has a lager shandy sort of taste with feint spicy ginger, tastes very artificial, with a light bitterness.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
500ml bottle from Rhythm and Booze - a quid! Cloudy yellow body, frothy white top. Nose is very much like a cheap shandy, lots of lemonade, can’t pick up the alleged ginger. Taste is sweet, with a little warmth at the end. But like Garrold says... it is a quid!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Appearance: Clear amber with finger thick white head.
Aroma: Ginger, lemon, pepper and biscuit.
Taste: Medium bitterness, low/medium sourness and low sweetness.
Palate: Thick smooth texture, light body, average carbonation, lingering dry, biscuit, ginger, lemony, peppery finish.
Comments: Very tasty, refreshing and glass lace. The ginger is prominent in both the aroma and taste but not overbearing. This rating is for the bottled version 4.0% ABV.

Hazy burnished gold, white lacing. Spicy lemon peel. Shortcake and yeast esters. Another typical golden ale.
