Nice toasted malty and chocolate aroma. Dark amber appearance and fine head. Taste licorice chocolate and roasted malts. Some bite on palate but would have liked more. That said a good strength. Very drinkable. .

Cask. Ruby brown body thin cream top. Aroma toasted malts with coffee and licorice notes. The taste is fruity, soft berries rather than citrus with a mild malty tang in the background. Overall a good example of the mild beer type.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask @ Bedford Arms, Bedford. Dark purplish brown with a wispy tan head. Mild liquorice and coffe in the nose. Taste carries a surprisingly fruitiness. Sweetness balanced by a chalky bitterness in the back of the throat. Aftertaste has a jarring bitter/sour note but otherwise ok. An above average mild, enjoyable stuff.

Cask, ’Spoons, Hawick. Looks great apart from a slight haze, that lost it a point! Dark ruby with a tight white head, good lacing down the glass. Nose and taste bursts with roast malts, a delicious brew, good lingering finish, glad I popped in here after my walk!
