3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Nice burgundy-brown colour with thin tan head. Not much aroma, just a bit of malt with bitter edges. Watery mouthfeel at first, but out fills in as the flavour kicks in. Tastes of burnt caramel malt with a bit of chocolate and molasses, and an astringent bitter finish. It's interesting, but not something I could drink a lot of.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Very dark clear ruby brown with a rim head and streaks of lace. Taste is toasted caramel malt that stays true to the malt, growing somewhat through the palate before turning slightly bitter for a smooth, lingering finish. A really solid porter with no pretense or extra business - just the malt and the yeast and the hops. Recommended.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Brown beer, more like one of those maly Baltic Porters. Nose is fruity, with raisins, plums and dates, with fillberts, chocolate and roasted malts. The flavour is equally fruity and nutty. Medium to thin bodied, with almost excessive carbonation and a certain a(d)stringency.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Serving: 500 ml. bottle from State Line Liquors. It pours a medium to dark brown with a small, light tan head. Lighter color than I was expecting. The nose has a bit of dough and light earth. Neither sweet nor bitter on the palate. Very even keeled with notes of bread, light caramel, molasses, earthy hops, and a hint of leather. Light to medium body with a fairly dry finish. Just short of chalky on the mouthfeel. Tasty.
