| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 13, 2009 Pours clear with a deep red brown color. Head is frothy and colored light brown. Aroma is molasses and maple syrup, but also resin. Tasting delivers the aromatic promise of sweetness and bitterness. Light to medium bodied. syrupy texture and soft carbonation.
This is one is something to remember next time a lager drinker asks for a recommendation in order to broaden his view of beer. Well balanced and easy to drink.

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 9, 2009 Bottle. Pours very dark ruby with a tan head that lasts ages. Aroma is a little earthy with notes of roasted malt, caramel, chocolate and spice. Flavour is similar to aroma but with more malt, less sweetness and a hint of coffee. Medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel, moderate carbonation and a mildly bitter finish. Enjoyable enough but as porters go, this is a little thin. Seems like its missing something. hellbilly (1577), scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA

typical ruby brown color with a super soft frothy tan head.
it smells quite tart and fruity... weird. tart berries mix with black raisins, roasty grain, florals, a bit of smoke and some lactic tartness to make up the aroma.
the flavor follows the weird pattern... ashiness, roast, soured fruit, some chocolate, burnt black raisins and milk. oddly sour... not sure if it’s flawed, but it’s not good.
the light medium body is not helped by the nearly overwhelming acidity. 5/3/5/2/12/2.7 davegore (202), liverpool, Merseyside, England
