Cask at the Cricketers (JDW), Ipswich. Pours very dark brown with a maroon tint and a lasting off white head. Aroma of black current, spice, and chocolate. Medium sweetness, light bitterness, touch of sour. Full bodied, slick texture, average carbonation. Finish is dry and slightly sharp. Not convinced it was served at its absolute prime, but still very drinkable.

From barrel at Sir John Gervase Warren Robin Hood beer festival. Aroma malty, herbal, with caramel notes. Pours dark brown lace top. The taste bespeaks the Growler origin and the coriander lengthens and complicates the finish with spice.

Bottle at home. Mailorder from Beerhawk. 10/06/16. Deep and dark but let down by the lack of any head. The coriander comes through in the sweet aroma - reminds me of something else but annoyingly I cannot think what, some sort of fruit drink/mulled wine perhaps.. A sweet beer with a bitter kick. Unoffensive palate. A nice beer. Not sure whether I’d want to drink multiple pints.

Cask HP at Crosse Keys, London. Very dark brown with a red hue, still, almost opaque, foamy brown head endures. Aroma has lots of coriander seed powder, cucumber and apple smoothie, orange peel. Nice up front but a bit too much over time. Body is a little frothy, a bit more tingle than most cask. Taste has more coriander which imparts a fruit smoothie vibe, a little floral, spicy, orange peel, green raisin, a little clove. Obviously all these flavours are coming from the coriander, which definitely adds a continental swagger to the base beer. The flavour balance is well judged. Good.

Cask at JDW WIQ, London. It pours a clean brown color with small tan head. Aroma is sweet and lightly spicy roasty with notes of caramel and juniper. Taste is also mostly sweet with some more caramel juniper and coffee notes. Light bodied with soft carbonation. Overall, interesting.

Black. Creamy head. The flavour of coriander is very prominent in the beginning. Qualitively good but feels out of balance and wrong.
