3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Clear dark brown colour with low head and medium body. Nose of straw and malt. Taste of nuts, caramel, malt, leaves, woods, hops and torf. Easy to drink with a very flat body with very low carbonation. Quaffable and nice.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Botted. Aroma of Sweet Malt and Caramel. Pour dark golden brown with a head that disappears very fast. Taste Malt, Caramel, toasted nuts and mild biscuit. This is a nice Dunkel very traditional and you can tell they are following the tradition of Bavarian beers.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
0.5l bottle. Deep ruby body, light brown head. Aroma of dark fruits, caramel and roasted malts. Taste is more caramelly than the aroma suggests and has dark fruit and toast notes. The finish is a bit hoppy. Medium-full body, oily texture. Nice one!

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a clearish reddish brown, with a tan head. Aroma is malty with a little skunk. Taste is a little too thin, malt with notes of caramel. Not the best dunkel. Can’t quite go ’thumbs up’...

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Stopped in for a quick pint before heading to a friend’s wedding in Athens. Was hoping to hit up Aromas, but it was closed. Luckily I was able to tick off a new style at the Royal Peasant. Pours a very average medium brown with sweet grainy scent. Very strongly carbonated. Sweet with a slight hint of bitterness. Bottle - The Royal Peasant - Athens, GA

2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle:   Brownish hued copper, clear, sudsy white head, sparce lacing.   Strong mealy nose, much worse than
its lighter Pils cousin.   This one really smells like pet food mixed with a rabbit cage.   And again, on the tongue
its not as bad as the nose suggests.   It remains rather mealy tho.   Has that signature dark malt flavor, and even
comes across as a very pale Doppelbock with its chewy breadiness.   Body and mouthfeel are average.   Lingering
toasted malts and sweet alfalfa.   My advice, dont inhale too hard before drinking.   Otherwise you will be just

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark brown coloured body with some lighter amber tints and a bit of copper hues at the bottom, all with a one centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of toasty malt, nuts, earth, caramel and a hint of concord grapes. Medium-bodied; Strong earthy maltiness noticeable with a good sweetness, some light spices and not much else. Aftertaste shows the malt with a hint of alcohol, some sweetness and a good mellow earthiness. Overall, a nice beer - can’t believe I never sampled this one, but well worth a drink, especially if you are eating some German food! I sampled this stubby (german style) 33 cL bottle purchased from Old Europe restaurant in Washington, DC for US$6.00 today on 23-March-2013.
