Dark amber with an OK head. The aroma is malty/sweetish and the flavour is sweetish, malty with notes of nuts and caramel. 2011

Test vom 12.7.2005, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 10,12,11,11,10,11 - 11,00

Bottle at Busboys & Poets. Pours slightly hazy chestnut color; extra points for a nice looking bottle! Shaped like a kettle I guess. Aroma of warm pecan pie. taste is caramel and butterscotch. Sweet stuff, good dessert beer.

330ml bottle (BioMarket, Tallinn)
6 Slightly sweet grainy aroma, not really jumping out of the glass.
4 Very deep red, small tight beige head.
6 Slightly eco-ey muddy grain taste. Leafy and undergrowthy. However, there’s also something almost chocolatey too it too.
4 Medium palate, has both sugary and watery components, crisp carbonation. Dry nuttiness and a pleasant roast after swallowing. A little bitter tingle too from the hops.
13 Let this sucker warm up, don’t drink straight from the fridge. The heavier flavours just won’t come through cold.

hopscotch (8910) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - NOV 2, 2010
Bottle… Clear, beautiful copper lager with a small, creamy, off-white head. Good retention. The nose reveals toasted grains, peppery hops, light caramel and a whisper of earthy tree bark. Medium-bodied with a milky mouthfeel and tingly carbonation. The flavor doesn’t suggest much more than moderately sweet toasted malts. Finishes earthy, lightly sweet, and then dry.

pivnizub (8750) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - DEC 2, 2005
Bottle: Reddish-brown coloured, mid-sized fluffy head, lacing; strong sweet-malty nose, faint traces of molasses and very faint traces of bitterness; slightly sweet-malty start; faint sweet flavour, almost light bodied; sweet, a bit tart, short finish; not unpleasant, but a bit monotonous: a liquid toffee.................

(bottle) Clear and dark copper colour with a foamy tanned medium head. Sweetbitter aroma of roasted malts with toffee. Light sweet malty flavour and taste, slightly roasted. Medium to light bodied and almost lively carbonated. Dry and moderately bitter and hoppy aftertaste. Not an outstanding but standard Dunkel.
