Sampled during the Bamberg Jolly in January 2014. Pours unclear brown-gold with a foamy, white head. Notes of sugary bread, and very little else. Light bodied with fine carbonation and airy texture. Sugary on the finish, with some toasted cereal elements. Bleh.

Bottle 50cl, an amber beer. Nose is on barley sugar, very near the weisse alkoholfrei but with more caramel touch, again low body, not bad but not famous, finish is like an old orange,

500ml bottle bought at Great Food Hall in Pacific Place, Admiralty.

Cloudy hazy, amber brown colour with substantial dirt- like yeast sediments; One and a half finger head with crumpety off white foam which lasts for about 3 minutes; Very good sticky lacing and quite fizzy carbonation; Aroma of sweet potato, water chestnut juice, sucrose, light plum, and sweet cream corn; Close to light sweet taste of sweet potatoes, with strong metallic, grains, tapioca pearls, strong wood chips, light yeast and light yam; Mid to light body, slightly slick palate; Mouth feel is metallic, sweet cream corn water, with a much lighter taste of grains, tapioca pearls, and sweet potatoes than other NA hefeweiss. Yeast taste is there but pretty much gone with the booze, and not much malt nor hop tastes, either; Wet after taste, light sweet and quite metallic to mouth.

Comments: This one taste better, feel lighter, and slightly more enjoyable than the off-putting hefeweiss NAs I’ve had, but it was plagued by metallic taste, and it’s cream corn water with water chestnut juice aroma as usual. Strictly for driving only.

Erzengel (7758) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - JAN 12, 2014

500 ml bottle in Garmisch, Germany. Pours much like a real one darl with a tan head. Aroma is sweet cardboard and caramel. Taste is a sweet short malt blast that dies off quickly to a watery version of the aroma. For a no alcohol its not too bad and I would have loved it in Kuwait but here its just for those that cant or wont do alcohol but want to fit in with the others that do.
