3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Moderate to heavy malt notes of light bread and grain, moderate grass for the hops, light dough for the yeast, with a hint of wood in the background. Head is average to large, frothy, white with good yet slippery lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is hazy pale yellow. Flavor starts lightly to moderately acidic, then finishes lightly acidic and lightly to moderately bitter. Palate is light to medium, dry with a fizzy carbonation and a dry finish. Good aroma and simple flavors from this Classic German Pilsener. A nice easy drinker and very true to the style.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Smells a bit sweet. Corn and wheat. Sweet and mild grains. Tastes actually better and better as I drink it. Not great but alright. Decent for a whatever pilsner.

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 20/20
UPDATED: JUL 20, 2013 Clean and fresh Noble hops accentuate this excellent session beer. This beer pours a nice frothy head, and releases a pleasing Noble aroma with just a subtle hint of malt. The finish is slightly spicy, and almost a touch lemony, but it is quite smooth nonetheless. Pleasantly grassy and straw make up the middle notes. I re-rated this fine beer after having it most weekends this summer. It is THE best pilsner I have ever had. Just excellent and fresh and perfectly brewed. Just an outstanding pilsner and THE one that American micros should strive to duplicate. One of my all-time three favorite beers.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Location: 330 ml bottle at NY Terps Event, 6/7/12, as Neumarkter Lammsbräu Organic Pilsner
Aroma: The nose is pretty light with yeasty notes, light fruit, and a little bit of hop
Appearance: This one pours into the glass a clear gold color with a small-to-medium white head
Flavor: Tastes fairly light as well, not off, just dull, with some light sweetness, and a hint of bitterness
Palate: The body is fairly light, but the drinkability is pretty decent, and it has an alright finish as well
The bartender who seemed to think of himself as the bar’s beer expert described this one as "a better Heineken" in what I could only guess was an attempt to sell me on trying it. I wish I was kidding, but I’m not, and I certainly don’t blame him, as he would have had no way of knowing I actually like good beer not Heineken. So anyway, we were not off to a good start there, but I figured I’d judge it for myself. He really wasn’t too wrong. This beer was fine, with no major flaws (unlike Heineken), but it was kind of boring too

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
From a funny shaped green bottle with a date code 87:39..B26. When I popped the lid it gushed all over the place, never expected that for apilsner. Pour looks like lemon ade, hazy. And there is this big head that never fades bt just goes craggy. Is a little veggie on the aroma, but mostly sterile metal. Taste is not bad, fairly laid back attitude on the alky but there is still enough bitterness inthere to let you know it is pilsner. Yes, every pour is this giant head and I must say, it is pretty attractive looking. Relaxed and gentleman like on the taste buds, almost comes across like a slightly bitter hefe. As the session continues there is this constantly building pilsner attitude that grows right up to the finish. Good overall beer rating experience, not bad and better than the average beer.

2.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
12oz Bottle. Thanks for sharing, Rob. I feel a little on the fence about rating this beer in this condition, but if someone is going to pay money for a beer that a store let sit on the shelf this long, that a distribution didn’t call back, that a brewery released in a green bottle and shipped over seas, I think they deserve to know that what I drank was skunked worse than warm Rolling Rock. Aroma is a complete skunk. Flavors are washed out and rubbery. Clean finish, but light struck.
