Hard to find...always out of it at the Brewery in Neustadt. Usually have to get it in Listowel, Ontario(in the middle of nowhere). I can see how this won an award just recently. Came 2nd place in a Canadian craft brew competition for *best brown ale*. Try it out. Can’t go wrong with 10w30. DerWeg (760), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Wonderful yeasty/roasty aroma emanating from a solid sticky head over a dark brown, slightly murky countenance. Light fruit, nutty and caramelly tones of a classic British ale. The hell with silly articles putting down the style, this is da booty, beeotch! pintbypint (1004), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 2, 2005 341ml brown bottle. Poured deep chestnut brown with red highlights. Tiny layer of compact bubbles on surface. Surprised to find citrus in the aroma, as well as caramel. Mildly carbonated with a dark malt flavour, slight roasted malts, some grains, and a pleasant hoppy finish. HogTownHarry (4000), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada

I tried and tried, very little aroma at all nowadays - some dark roast malt (sweetish but burnt), a touch of wood smoke. Taste is medium-bodied at best, bitter, deep over-roasted malt, apples and prunes. An after taste of faint smokiness, preserved fruit, touch of off-dry white wine. Hardly any carbonation. Where’s that gentle touch of rauchbier flavour I remember! JoeMcPhee (5000), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
