garthicus (1216), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Apr 23, 2009 Can. Very dark brown with with a small off white head. Aroma: Quite a lot of hops, malt, nuts with vanilla and a tiny amount of chocolate. Flavour: Moderately carbonated with roasted malt, mild hazelnuts, caramel and a nice hop bite. I really wasn’t expecting much from this but it’s a nice solid beer and a nice surprise. Papillon (172), Sudbury, Ontario, Canada Feb 27, 2009 473 mL Can. Well it does look like used motor oil that could have been gotten from that old car on the label but I’ve never seen used oil kick up a little bit of tan foam like that. I applaud the brewer’s sense of humor. Although the head is very scant, it does seem to want to cling to the sides, leaving some lace. The aroma is Hop City with accents of crystal malt, caramel, and toasted malt with an innuendo of pine. I find it very likeable. You want flavor? This one will give you flavor. Toasted malt with a pronounced crystal malt aftertaste followed by a lingering note that reminds me of bread toasted over camp fire coals, and then well buttered and slathered with a caramel spread. A bit sweet perhaps but the sweetness doesn’t assault the senses. I’ll have another one, please? daknole (2805), Plantation, Florida, USA Feb 6, 2009 Can from jerc. Dark brown pour. Aroma has some nice caramel malt and has a strong roasted note to it. Flavor is also roasty and malty. Not bad not amazing. Really enjoyed this & am rather surprised by the low ratings sinkhole (176), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Dec 20, 2008 Poured deep copper brown with a small off-white head. Aromas of roasted malts which carries through to the initial taste. A slight bitter aftertaste was also noted. Overall not strong flavoured but what is there is nice.
