Can: Poured a light dark ale with a small foamy head with minimum retention and lacing. Aroma consists of lightly roasted malt with little else noticeable. Taste is also dominated by some light roasted malt with some even lighter caramel note. I thought this was way too watery and thin to be truly interesting.

Pours a deep burgundy red colour with a very thin off white head. Nose is some pine hops and strong molassesy malt backing with tiny hints of roast and bitter chocolate. Interesting. Flavour is very bitter, plenty of hops present here. There is a nice bit of malt in there too to balance it out. The malt is a chalky bitter roast kind of flavour. Not much of the molasses that was in the nose. Carbonation is a little low, but not too offensively so. Not watered down, but not really chewy either.

Draught @ Volo. Dark amber brown, reddish and almost opaque. Earthy, minerally aromas are clean. Soft mouthfeel. Mild character. Malt-foward, with some kola nut and clean watery finish making it a really nice session ale.

16 oz. can - thanks to matt7215 for the trade; dark brown with foaming tan head fading quickly; raw and nutty aromas; stale malts and raw grain; not much sweetness at all, but good amount of maltiness; pretty blah overall

Ratings based on the can. Dark brown with some red. Thin, lacy head. Sweet, spicy, caramel and molasses aroma. Sweet, carmel flavor, spicy, with rich, complex malts. Sweetness lasts to the end, but the finish is dryer, with a touch of alcohol and hops; enough so that it is not cloying. This is a great English Mild: truly mild but not weak. Great flavor.

500ml can thanks to a friend. Nose is sweet with strong hits of caramel and brown sugar. Mouthfeel is somewhat creamy with lots of caramel on the tongue with a mix of bold spices. The texture of the beer itself was somewhat thick and very smooth. Excellent brew!
