Head quickly recedes, but never really leaves. Roasty malt nose, a bit sweet, with a slight metallic tinge. Flavor is roasty, almost burnt malts, with the tiniest hint of bitter hop. Like almost none. Not bad, but not great. Thanks Len! You send the most obscure beers, and I LOVE it! daboskabouter (1470), Fergus, Ontario, Canada
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 2, 2006 Dark brown colour with a little red poking through and a frothy white head on top. The nose is sweet and malty with just a very light touch of roast. The body is a bit sweet for my tastes with some roastiness in the middle and light bitterness at the end. A moderately good brown ale with a bit too much spritz for it’s own good. Jan Primus (160), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 17, 2006 Hazy brown ale with a big bubbled collapsing light moka head. A rather bizarre nutty aroma with sulfuric notes. In mouth, the beer is redeemed by a peaty smokey malt with slight lactic notes, herbal and slightly oily. Medium bodied. spish (12), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 1, 2006 Oil brown with a thick foamy head. Nice scent, it smelled thick. Watery taste, but slightly pleasant with some alcohol. Much less malty then advertised. CapFlu (3481), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada

Very roasted malt nose and flavour with a smokiness to it. Texture was slightly more carbonated than desired. A decent beer.
