It has taken me a while to get to it, but here is a re-rate finally. Brown body, small beige head. Light grainy aroma, mild caramel and malt. More grain and malt in the flavour, pleasant caramel malt, with a slight malt bite in the finish that is actually quite pleasant (unlike my reaction in the previous rating, interesting!) Aveage palate. Solid quaff. A bit under rated I think. 7/3/7/3/14 - 3.4<P>
Draft. On tap at C’est What. Deep reddish amber colour, bit of hops in the aroma. Flavour is predominantly malt with some decent hoppy bitterness. Started out with a bit of harsh bite inthe first sip, but finished off respectably. Will try this one again to get a better feel for it. 6/3/6/3/13 - 3.1 CapFlu (3494), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada

How: Can, 473ml, fresh (probably 1 to 2 months old). Graciously given by Tupalev, thanks a lot Jeff.
The look: Almost clear dark ruby body with a medium beige head
In long: Nose of burning wood and raisin pie. Taste is very fruity with an unusual mix of prunes and apple juice blending with some smooth toffee. Very nice mouthfeel. A little creamy pecan as it warms up. The first sip was a WTF? But by the end of the can I was actually enjoying it. As a brown-ale it misses the target but as some kind of English Strong Ale this is pretty drinkable. An ok everyday beer although they should really make a stronger 5W30 beer for cold winter days.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 12, 2003 Malty nose, copper, with a small cream coloured head. Malty at first, woody in between and a nutty bitterness toward the end. Light bodied, nicely bitter. Good session ale. I love the tap handle, it's a plastic bottle just like some engine oils come in! austinpowers (2828), New York, New York, USA
| 1.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 1/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 6/20 | May 7, 2008 Can from Summerhill LCBO, Toronto. Thin, bitter, where’s the beer?!? This bummed me out, and left me wondering why no one in this province seems to put malt in their beer! A bit nutty. TaktikMTL (2798), Montréal-Nord, Quebec, Canada
