tupalev (2605), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jun 28, 2004 Great hoppy aroma after pouring pale yellow. Taste is pretty bland but inoffensive - some malt notes I suppose. The aftertaste was up for some debate - my friend found a strong yeasty taste in this and the scotch ale that he didn’t like - I detected something but it didn’t really throw me off. Not a bad summer lager. JustinBathurst (134), Corner Brook, Newfoundland, Canada May 25, 2004 Pours a fairly substantial white foam head and clear, clear straw gold.
Smells of slightly musky celery, cut grass hops, but I can’t detect much else.
Mouthfeel is light, but not carbonated enough for my lager tastes. As a result, seems more watery than it should.
Taste is bitter hops, some subdued spice and citrus. Has a really nice lingering aftertaste that is the real treat--the hops bitter lasts. I found this beer underwhelming at first, but after a couple more over the past few days, it has grown on me. A for-sure dinner beer. Good with curry dishes. jerc (3861), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Nov 8, 2003 Pale yellow with no head. Flowery hop aroma with slight fruity notes. Long lasting aftertaste is interesting. wnp22 (682), Toronto (Roncesvalles Village), Ontario, Canada Sep 30, 2003 Tasted in Toronto from C'est What. Floral honey scent. Light yellow / straw colour with light white head. Light tangy refreshing taste with a sharp bitter after finish. caledonian (367), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Jul 15, 2003 A bit of citrus, slightly sour and bitter, with a lingering finish. Not fully filtered, ever so slightly cloudy with some particles. Not bad, but not really my preferred style of lager. heykevin (1269), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Jul 6, 2003 Fresh german (hallertau?) aroma. Moderate body, a bit watery but clean and decent lager. GregClow (2493), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jun 25, 2003 Clear golden-orange colour with a foamy white head. Aroma is very pleasant with fruity and malty notes. Very creamy mouthfeel, and fruity notes in the flavour with a nice hoppy bitterness in the finish. Nice stuff. CapFlu (3480), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada Jun 21, 2003 (Bottle) Large, foamy, white head and a clear golden, slightly carbonated body. Mild hop, some yeast and cereal in the nose. Medium straw malt flavour, mild citrus, carbonated tongue, bitter finish. Fair.
