austinpowers (2813), New York, New York, USA May 7, 2008 I love this style, so it kills me to diss one of these beers, but this is thin, metallic, watery, and the hops are of a variety that sucks ass. I don’t know the technical name for this hop, but it shouldn’t be used in anything other than beers from Steelback. "Scottish Ale", my ass. This is too bitter and not malty enough for the style. yarry (329), Waterdown, Ontario, Canada Apr 27, 2008 473ml can, 4.5% a/v
Pours medium brown colourwith a decent tan head and some lacing. The aroma is very nice, smells fresh, hoppy and a bit of an unusual citrus. Tastes cirusy hops, with a very interesting finish. This beer is MUCH better then I had anticipated.
Beer Snob (337), Ontario, Canada Apr 6, 2008 Looks good, smells completely neutral and tastes just about the same. Enough hoppiness to keep it from being entirely forgettable, but certainly not very memorable. Blasphemies (28), Ontario, Canada Mar 5, 2008 Can was labeled Scottish Pale Ale - assuming this is the same beer.
Amber colour. Slightly malty, a tiny bit hoppy, itty bitty trace of bitter. Smooth. wilderthanyou (270), Guelph, Ontario, Canada Jan 15, 2008 This beer has weak game. Scottish Ale my foot. Pours a nice amber colour with a quickly diminishing head. The flavour is a little is a little malty, and little hoppy and has a soapy finish. Thin and watery. Not like a scottish ale at all. But it’s still beer, so I’ll drink it.
