2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 bacchanalia (145) - milton, Cambridgeshire, ENGLAND - SEP 11, 2010
pours a deep gold, classic german nose, light dough & delicate floral fruity hops. Body is a little on the acidic thin side & the initial attack is quite sweet. there’s some bitterness, not really any fruit, malt & hops but the alcohol shows through too much. Its not a disaster just not great, its only 6.5% there really is no excuse for this to taste so boozy, get some balance in your beer chaps.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 bluevegie (2853) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - MAY 24, 2010
Clear orangey golden body with short lasting head. Sweet malty aroma, then a hint of spice. Taste is sweet fortunately not overly so, light caramel notes, simple but drinkable.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20 LordCorkscrew (1737) - Ronco Scrivia (GE), ITALY - JAN 11, 2010
è una heller bock. versa biondo/oro limpido, con grande schiuma. aroma non pesante ma dominio del malto, sapore piuttosto dolce, ma si governa senza strabordare e si lascia bere pur essendo mediamente corposa e un poco calorosa.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 sound67 (223) - Offenbach, GERMANY - NOV 14, 2009
50cl dark brown bottle, label slightly different from the one pictured.
Pours a clear golden yellow with big, frothy white head. Good retention, generous lacing.
Aroma of malt and hops, no fruit. Medium-bodied bockbeer with rather thin, watery mouth feel. Medium carbonation.
Taste at first is overly sweet, yeasty, with strong alcoholic overtones. If there is any fruit to be found, it might be peach. Moderately bitter, dry finish and lingering alcoholic after taste.
Like many bocks, the Neuzeller is a little too sweet for comfort, and not as heavy nor fulfilling as one would expect. Mediocre strong beer.

50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden orange with a lasting, off-white and creay head. Grassy and roasted malt aroma. Flavour is mainly grassy hoppy than roasted malt driven. Light metallic touch and a distinct bitterness leading into a dry and mild sweet malt flavoured finish.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Maria (7805) - Thisted, DENMARK - JAN 12, 2009
It is warm golden with a huge, creamy head. The aroma has notes of malt, flower and caramel, but it is mild, almost weak. The flavour is sweet with notes of malt, flower and light caramel. Sadly the overall impression is too sweet and too weak/thin.
