Bottle from Galaria, Berlin. Reddish colour with a red head. Aroma and flavour of malt and cherries.

Bottle looks very simple. Beer in the glass light red, small head. Starts fruity and sourish, more and more like sour cherry juice. Finish unbalanced. Not good.

Bottle shared with northropfrye. Beautiful cherry colour and fluffy pink head. Taste of cherries, more on the sour side than sweet, but not like a lambic. The taste could be a little stronger, I would have liked to taste the cherries more pointedly. Overall I enjoyed this beer.

Bottle. Red colour with pink head. Faint cherry aroma. Sweet cherry taste, a little tart, very fruity. Pleasant.

Adding fruit too a beer seems to me to be about the least German thing possible but, here it is, a German beer brewed w/ cherries. It pours a mostly clear red-tinged brown w/ a slightly pinkish head. The base beer is a malty amber sort of a deal w/ strong caramel flavors and some nutty malt notes. The more you drink of this though, the stronger the cherry flavor comes through and the sweetness begins to cloy. If you want a sweet, fruity beer-like concoction, this is probably better than, say, Leinenkugel’s fruit beers but not by much. Scroll past unless you are a fanatic for the style.
