Tall head (gushin’ past BB 2weeks) diminishes to a filmy layer, clear pale golden body, about laceless. Aroma; grass, wort, dark malts, peaches, faint liquorice, candied sugar. Taste; caramel malts, grassy fruity hops, buttery caramels, brown bread, faint dark ripe fruits. Normal on palate, feels clean. Finish is short, mild, blended. [50cl brown btl, BB07.10.14, B@Alko, T@höme]

Bouteille:Golden, clear, very quickly collapsing loose white head; dryish-grainy nose, hops barely detectable; almost moderate bitter-sweet flavour, light bodied; short bitter finish with a medical touch and a grainy support. Easy driking stuff, unfortunately the brewers have no idea how a god ( bohemian) Pils should taste like…

Bottle 50cl. Clear goldehn with a small white head. Typical pilsner nose with a small hint of metal. High carbonation, light taste. Little malt present, nice bitter finish. Not spectacular but reasonable

Pale yellow/orange with a foamy white head. Sweet malts and a hint of hops on the nose. Pretty mild for a pilsner but still a bit better than a lager. Sweet and a bit bitter. Easy to drink. Not bad but easy to forget.

Many thanks to djoeye for a 500ml bottle of this one. Filmy layer to a clear golden body. Poor lacing. Pale malts together with fresh grass on the nose. Mixed smooth taste of grassy hops and buttery malts. Vague hop bitterness to the ending. Clean and soft in the mouth. Pizza friendly (shared with Frau Eva, Tromsø 08.03.2014).

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein goldgelbes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch malzig hopfig, grasig. Geschmack hopfig bitter, getreidig, grasig.

0.5 l bottle from Alko. Winter edition. Light orange yellow colour with OK head. Taste has hops, not extremly lot, and malts as shoud be with a decent pilsener. Quite nice, but not something to remember the next day.

In the hall dedicated to German beer at the 2014 Berlin Green Week I found the Klosterbrauerei Neuzelle bar and had a couple of their brews, one being this Pilsner. Draught 0.4 litres of bright clear golden beer, on top a white head that tried to stay the distance. Nothing sets this apart from the dozen or so Pilsners I drank during the day: almost odourless and crisp in nature, just like the rest. Dry and leaning towards the hop side of things it was refreshing and thirst quenching, but without any strong flavours, good or bad. So in a nutshell: pleasant, well made German Pilsner that isn’t going to challenge any of your senses.
