4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 muzzlehatch (4425) - Burlington, Vermont, USA - JUL 16, 2004
Sample at the brewpub. Fruity, cherry-apple dominated nose; wonderful, huge malty fruitiness throughout, berries and fresh grass and old musty books...big body, thick and juicy...this was actually my favorite of the seven samples I had, and one of the best bitters I’ve ever tasted. Awesome job, Mike!

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 wnoble (918) - French Lick, Indiana, USA - APR 28, 2011
Pours amber/light red with zero head because of the server. Nose is lightly caramelly with Semi-heavy grassy and herbal hop character with notes of almost spearament. Taste is heavily herbal, grassy and again nearly a mint hop character. Also sone caramel and biscotti English malt character. Medium light bodied, strainght forward mouthfeel. Finishes medium dry and bitter. I really dig on the hop character. Good beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 hotstuff (3340) - Indiana, USA - NOV 27, 2004
UPDATED: JUN 23, 2010 Re-rated on May 29, 2010
Original rating: Draft at Rich O’s in New Albany, IN. Large ivory head, good lacing, uncarbonated, and an orange brown hue. Aroma was malty, caramel, sweet, and fruity (apples?). Sweet, bitter, malty, and hoppy flavor. Tingly palate.
Re-rate at Scotty’s Brewhouse, Muncie, IN. Small ivory head, hazy orange-brown hue, fast-rising carbonation, and excellent lacing. The aroma was malty, bitter, citrus hops, caramel, and hints of pine. The flavor mimicked the aroma. The mouthfeel was smooth and creamy and this is a medium bodied beer. Overall, the hops were very upfront and this is a beer very worthy of trying and one I would drink again considering I am not a "hop head".
