COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The great Bill Monroe described his bluegrass music as “Scottish bagpipes and ole-time fiddlin’. It’s Methodist and Holiness and Baptist. It’s blues and jazz, and it has a high lonesome sound.” Our Black & Blue Grass begs to concur. Belgian yeast and stateside Saison spicing; black pepper and blue agave and lemongrass, and a great bet alongside any food you have around. Or, just enjoy a bomber of Black & Blue Grass as you watch the springtime ponies run.

22 oz bottle, not a ton of carbonation left, though it wasn’t flat. Poured an opaque orange-brown. Smelled almost-flowery, maybe some rose in the scent. Flavor was very sweet and nearly syrupy, had a very thick mouthfeel with a bit of the flower flavor as well. I don’t know where I got the flower from. Enjoyable.

Clear medium amber with a long-lasting white head and swaths of lace. Taste begins with malt and biscuit that grows sweeter through the palate, finally allowing a touch of hops bittering to bring things into balance. A full-bodied saison, exceptionally well done.

Another fine "New Albanian" brew that I purchased from Liquor Direct in Covingron. KY - Yo, this is a most berrycentric blonde (I knew a lady like that before).. it’d a good beer, just not my taste and style,.

Copper with n white head. Aroma was mainly orange. Taste was flowers, bread and tea. It reminded me of a dryer sheet. Not bad, not great.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear orange with a thin white head. Aroma of bready malt, floral perfume, light fruits, herbal notes. Flavor of herbal tea and light fruits up front followed by a very bready finish. The sweet agave is pretty faint here, doesn’t overpower the beer. Plenty of herbal/floral notes abound. Interesting and tasty saison. 7/4/8/4/14 (3.7/5)

Bottle from quenholly. Thanks! Initially a very floral and perfumey scent with some honey, straw, and lemon dishwashing liquid following. The color is amber-gold and a thin head develops on top when poured out. Very minimal lacing. Sweet citrusy flavors (probably the agave), some wheat grain, honey blossom, and the soapy lemon also noted in the aroma. There’s a little peppery bitterness in the back end that’s a welcomed contrast to the sweetness. It’s a bit too sweet overall though without much funk at all. But definitely not a bad beer.

On tap at Cincinnati Winter Beer Fest (CWBF) 2013. Mildly hazy amber color. Foamy off-white head. Fruity (agave?) nose. Medium body. Smooth carbonation. No viscosity. Agave fruity taste, some wheaty bread. Light bitter taste. Sweet finish. Interesting stuff. Solid agave ale. Some nice light hop to it.

Draft at CWBF - pours cloudy gold with offwhite head. Floral yeast nose. Flavor is floral hop with light caramel. Conservatively sweet with a slightly bolder bitterness. Straw/wheat aftertaste.

Nose is coriander, floral hops and citrus. Taste matches scent, lots of coriander and an earthy finish. Smooth beer, would be great on a hot summer day. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle courtesy of the brewer. Pours clear orange with some soapy head lingering around the edges. Nose lends pepper, grass sweet malts, light lemon notes, blend of purfume and fruity esters. Flavor is spicy and the lemon and pepper really come out. Medium light body and a clean dry shirt finish. Drinkable and interesting.
