On tap at GTMW. Poured cloudy deep brown with a spotty beige head. The aroma picked up sweet and fruity (grapes and similar) notes paired with a bit of vanilla.. came across as a sugar bomb. The flavor found a little more welcome roast, but it was still too sweet.. mostly berries and fruits with lesser nutty notes this time.. not a whole lot of barrel. Thin-bodied with low carbonation.. not a great feel to it.. this seemed to be missing something.

Draft to taster at the brewhouse. Looks good; a cloudy dark brown with off-white lacing. Smells good too; malt and cabernet. Tastes like it smells with an average mouthfeel. A damn good beer!

Pouring at GTMW 2012. Black pour, big brown thick head w/ nice lacing. Some sweet aromas although a bit light, I pick up some almost berry like elelments in it. Thin palate. Boring flavor, it’s a basic porter w/ some watery notes a hint of off sour fruit that suggests a mild infection and a dry wood in the finish. Not very good.
