On cask at the brewpub. Crystal clear light gold with a small off-white head. Great pine and citrus aroma. The flavor is the same with solid pale malt backbone. Smooth low carbonation with an almost full body. Overall: damn good, one of the best NABC offerings yet!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
IBG Summer Fest sample. Poured deep amber with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting with great lacing. Medium to heavy sour citrus and earthy hop aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Moderate to heavy bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bitter finish of moderate duration. Better then other project brew.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
15th Annual Indiana Microbrewers Summer Fest 2010: Tasted side by side with Simcoe version. The Chinook displays a clean golden hue topped by a frothy head. The aroma and taste does show the characteristics of the hop but seem a bit one dimensional which is why I guess that Chinook hops are often combined with the other C hops in many beers. Grassy and slight resiny, light citric fruit, bready malts and some mineral water. The mouth feel is lively and crisp, slightly chalky. Overall nice to try a single hopped brew but methinks that the Chinook would have shined a bit more in a stronger hopped IPA than an APA.
