COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The ale is a hybrid of American two-row, English crystal and German beechwood-smoked malts; Target and East Kent Golding hops; and London ale yeast. The original gravity was 1.060, and the flavor is lightly smoky with just enough hops to balance.

2/19/2011: NABC ConeSmoker Ale... Aroma: Pacific Northwestern-Style aroma - caramel maltiness with pine/resin and sugary grapefruit hoppiness. Appearance: Cloudy amber color; dense ivory to beige-colored crown. Flavor: Smoky with a nice hop profile; caramel malt with a respectable bitterness. Palate: Body is medium-light to medium; average mouthfeel. Overall: I think that this is probably the first hoppy smoked beer that I have had... This beer must be what a Smoked Pacific Northwestern-Style Red IPA would taste like!

Draught sample (7% ABV; 60 IBU) at New Albanian Brewing Company in New Albany, IN. Rating #39 for this beer.

Growler courtesy shrubber85. Fruity/sweet smoked ham aroma. Hazy amber with a small off-white head, nice lacing. Sweet malty smoke ham flavor and a light bitterness in the finish. Medium body, light carbonation.

Aroma of citrus, butterscotch, faint smoke and caramel. Appearance is toffee gold with creamy tan head. Flavor matches the nose. The palate is very bubbly. An interesting beer.

Tap. Honey smoked ham and malt aroma. Hazy amber color with nice head. Honey malt and smoked ham flavor. Lightly bitter herbal hops finish. A very sweet smoked beer but works well.

I think these people make great beer, but wow! This beer is all smoke in the nose and flavor. It has a great apperance but the smoke will ruin your palate. Stone only thinks they make ruination.

Pours golden amber with an off white head. Aroma is smoky wood and not much else. Flavor is almost all smoke, with a little bit of light malt. Not bad, but almost cloying, artificial smoke flavor is not my favorite.

Draft sample at New Albanian. Poured dark hazy brown color with average off-white fizzy head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate roasted and small smoke aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium smokeybittersweet flavor with a medium roasted smoke finish of moderate duration. Solid drinkable brew and standout for smoked style. Very interesting brew.

On tap at Rich Os. Hazy pour that i lighter color than expected. I am still not really into this style. This was good, but I have not grown fully accustomed to the smoked meat quality of smoked beers. Nice and balanced though. All the smokiness is in the flavor. Hardly any in the aroma.
